Yes some people love to argue. I get it, I think arguing with others is fun. It’s not so great online tho. It’s empty and soul-less.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What can US citizens do to fight/prevent their country enabling genocide?
12·10 months agoYou’re saying they don’t pay for their weapons? Pretty sure we would stop selling them weapons if they weren’t ever paying for them.

132·10 months agoEvery major politician in the USA has major financial backers with their own agendas that they purchase through superPAC contributions and by funding re-election campaigns. It’s been the ruling oligarchy my whole life and I’m middle aged. Pretending it’s different or worse now is disingenuous.

Uplifting News@lemmy.world•Elon Sounds Extremely Depressed After Tesla Profits Plunge 71%English
81·10 months agoBuilding a business and getting involved in politics is financial suicide 99% of the time. It’s one thing to work behind the scenes but to be the poster boy is just reckless. It is a tragic situation because Tesla was the only EV company in competition with the Chinese and now the Chinese will dominate global EV sales.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Now that S&P 500 is climbing and a lot are celebrating, does anyone else feel like this is just the tip of the shitberg?
22·11 months agoAlot has happened in the last 6 years that has financially changed the world. Corona virus and the breakdown of global supply chains. Biden froze Russia’s investments in US treasuries resulting in the weaponization of the global reserve currency at the start of the Ukrainian war. Further trust was eroded by Trump and his abandonment of previously agreed upon trade deals and imposing tariffs of varying degrees that are adjusted at will, per emotion. Whatever your political leanings you best get ready for some difficult times as the world loses faith and trust in American global leadership.

21·11 months agoIt’s a great idea but unfortunately we don’t live in that world anymore. I do hope one day we can get back to that world.
I just don’t understand why a person would choose to invest in Reddit. What exactly is the value proposition here?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Have Americans always been this stupid?
37·11 months agoAmerica had an election and made its choice. Democrats want to transform America into Europe 2.0 but most Americans do not want that. We have a binary political system so that only leaves one other choice. It is what it is.

17·1 year agoTrans people can live however they choose to and people have been fighting over abortion since the 1970s. I dont understand how these qualify as examples of fascism? I understand you do not agree with the abortion ruling but how does it support your claim of living under a fascist government?

Technology@lemmy.world•Used Tesla prices tumble as embarrassed owners look to sellEnglish
414·1 year agoWhat happens if Tesla falls? America’s charging station infrastructure is owned by Tesla. Looks like the whole EV push has been a complete failure. What about the environment and global warming, seems like people really don’t care about any of that in comparison to settling political grievances. It is what it is.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•dear republicans, what's the point of alienating every single ally of the US?
11·1 year agoLet me ask you a simple question. Why does America pay to build and run hundreds of military bases and military outposts all over the world? Financially why does America do that?
True we don’t have state run arms industries but never think the military industrial complex isn’t part of the government. In America it’s always about the money.
