Check out immich, I use that self hosted and it’s exactly like Google photos. It even has optional facial recognition.

Hi
It makes me happy that I don’t even know what that means. Well, I didn’t until now.
Mine didn’t either when I lived in a dorm. I got around the network block.
Mullvad even lets you send them an envelope with cash in it, with no identifying info other than your account number.
Hey, very cool app. One thing that could be a massive improvement is the ability to tap the thumbnails in “compact mode” to open a bigger version of the image without loading the whole post. Boost (for reddit and for lemmy) has something like this (though not as snappy as I’d like), and relay for reddit had the perfect implementation of this. It was quick and easy. You tap the thumbnail to blow the image up to the max screen width, tap again to dismiss the image. Ideally there would be no lag between when you tap and when the image is loaded, same with dismissing. (I disabled double tap in relay so the image dismissal didn’t wait for a 2nd tap, making it quicker.)
Obviously this is a very nice and niche feature, so it might be outside the scope of the app. But if you find yourself itching to add some features, keep this in mind :) It would fit well with the “fast, fluid browsing” theme of the app.
I took a video to give a quick example but uploading it to lemmy.world isn’t working, I don’t want to share my youtube account, and I don’t want to make you download a random file from a file sharing site, so you can check out this behavior in those 2 apps if you need an example.
What is hexbear? I never see it in my feed.
I use kagi and this specifically in discord drives me up the wall.
Get an electrician. It sounds like bad wiring or voltage control or something.
Ah damn. I use sharex but was wanting to switch to Linux. Is there a unanimously agreed upon best replacement for sharex? Might as well try flameshot.
It’s the alarm system interface and (especially with an elderly person living with me), I don’t want to make it harder to arm or disarm. But I like the biohazard idea!
Oh good idea. I don’t think I can (easily) make it change how long each one individually is displayed, but I could have like 5000 copies of the same exact image cycling relatively quickly (1 second each), and 1 copy of a spooky version of that image.
Nothing stresses me out more than FOMO
Hey, I have this idea for a new cryptocurrency. It’s going to be huge I swear
Because of their integration with simplelogin.
I run a large community, it’s not just a matter of asking people to contact me elsewhere. You can’t uproot a community and bring it somewhere else, and I wouldn’t be able to at all because of matrix’s and revolt’s lack of permissions systems, bots, and other things that are unique to discord. I would welcome a viable alternative. I’ve spent many hours trying to make matrix work with the functionality I need, and it’s simply not possible.
As far as the link goes, I’m not sure if those rules mean the links themselves must not contain tracking, or that the website on the other end must not contain tracking. You can have youtube links that themselves have no tracking information in it. You can’t just ban links to any site with tracking, you’d just have nothing you can link to.
Edit: the rule also says “isn’t great”. That’s not the same as “isn’t allowed”. Forcing someone onto a frontend that either doesn’t work for them or is annoying to use I think is worse than letting users redirect themselves using a “tracking filled website” link.
They were in too deep to give up, the only way forward was down.
