I’m always doing something else while watching a movie. I often rewind 30 seconds because I missed something important. But I find most movies have so much that I don’t care about… So I focus on whatever else until I realize that I’ve missed something.

There either a lot of Trekkies, or a few that post a lot of content. Either way, I get a chuckle, even if Star Trek isn’t my thing.

I was trying to find active users since he took over. But the only numbers I can find are numbers provided by Musk, who is a well known liar.

I know Lemmy and Mastodon are niche communities, and that people put up with a lot of garbage from Big Tech, but I have to believe that a lot of users have left Twitter, or least that usage is down. I also assume bots are way up, because Musk wants his numbers to be up regardless of the source (save for people with an opposing opinion).

My guess would be the PSU as well. It could be dead, or not plugged in right, or underpowered. Pulling out the GPU is a great idea. At least if it boots that provides some direction.

Messages went from $.05, to $.10, to $.20 to send and receive. That was in the span of three years. All of the companies said it wasn’t collision. They just happened to arrive upon massive increases separately.

If I recall, one of the CEOs said “We’re raising the prices to save customers money. This way they’ll be an unlimited plan”

The telcos should have been broken up then. Instead we’ve seen even more mergers.

Not sure what changes, but it’s scary how much Google controls. Even if we just broke off YouTube from them, that would be a big deal.

Ideally we would split their search engine, YouTube, and chrome each into two competing companies. (Google A, Google B, Chrome A, Chrome B, YouTube A, YouTube B)

Because Google has so much power they can make changes that will break search results, websites, and browsers if you don’t accept changes that are beneficial to them.

Nah. I’ve heard plenty of horror stories from women. None of which were about comic guys. I’ve had coworkers that were painful to be around. So that wasn’t really the assumption.

… That said I’m pretty sure I’ve read about conventions and ccg tournaments where they had to start making rules because hygiene was so bad.

• Have a next place in mind if things are going well, but the comic shop has gotten stale (coffee, dinner, a walk somewhere well lit, etc.). Be open to her suggestions.

If she says ‘No,’ be respectful, and try not to take it to hard. It wasn’t meant to be. Take pride knowing you had the guts to try.

In the U.S. we’re so far from that mark that it’s not a concern unless you own an EV and find yourself in that situation.

We will adapt as (and if) EVs become the norm. In the meantime, you charge your vehicle much the same way you get gas. At a station.

And Google is bringing AI to private text messages. It will read all of your previous messages. On iOS? Better hope nothing important was said to anyone with an Android phone (not that I trust Apple either).

The implications are terrifying. Nudes, private conversations, passwords, identifying information like your home address, etc. There’s a lot of scary scenarios. I also predict that Bard becomes closet racist real fast.

We need strict data privacy laws with teeth. Otherwise corporations will just keep rolling out poorly tested, unsecured, software without a second thought.

AI can do some cool stuff, but the leaks, misinformation, fraud, etc., scare the shit out of me. With a Congress aged ~60 years old on average, I’m not counting on them to regulate or even understand any of this.
