Oof, this is rough to admit even anonymously as someone who cares about the environment:

I really like the feeling of being both hot and cold at the same time, so when the temps finally drop in my area, I like to crack the window open beside my computer and then sit with a space heater. Sometimes when I drive to work in the winter, I also like to crack my windows and have the heat blasting.

I am a spring of knowledge about all of the domestic Real Housewives franchises (though I did just pick up Dubai recently).

I know all the lore behind all their relationships/alliances/enemies and off season shenanigans.

Its legitimately stupid how much I can talk about rich women who flaunt their wealth and then do trashy shit like throw wine in one another’s faces or flip tables (or scam the elderly out of their retirement funds to fund their own lifestyle).

Ugh, seconding the makeup. Im spending 2025 on a low buy where Im only replacing essentials (like foundation, mascara, or eyeliner) as I need them.

Recently Coloured Raine went out of business and dropped all their eyeshadow prices down to $2.50, and I bought all of the palettes that were still available. Im pretty sure I have every single eyeshadow color at this point. The stack is so high I havent put them away in my vanity yet. Its like…9 palettes or something, on top of all the others I also have.

For me they’re always the most uncomfortable due to the…feeling of them, but they’re also by far the most gratifying afterwards.

I just feel like I relieve so much pressure/bloat and my cramps are temporarily alleviated.

Oh jesus, between this reason and the fact that my husband’s guts are a legit mixing ground for chemical warfare, our marriage would not survive a one bathroom household.

Tell everyone you know that our healthcare literally bankrupts our working class, and that we still have crazy wait times for appointments due to our staffing shortages! Tell them there is absolutely zero upside to using anything remotely like our system!

Yeah, my husband and I stopped using Amazon years ago, and this is what we did. You can just Google anything you need to buy and then order it straight from the manufacturer.

This year I did dip my toe back into Amazon because I discovered we get a free Prime account through our cell phone provider, but I only use it for when I need something guaranteed delivery by a certain date. For everything else, I just go to a store’s web site.

I usually completely forget I even have an account when I’m searching for stuff I need to buy.

Yup! I also was able to do it using the browser!

This happened to my bestie just now when I screencapped that it had worked for me and told him about it.

I wonder what the difference is? Maybe its regional?

Edit: He figured his out. He placed the order through Amazon but it was delivered via USPS. Maybe that’s the issue?

My husband and I had one going for a little over a week before the lockdowns as well. I just kinda lost interest in it.

Yup. Stuck to my guns for over a year, and Lemmy didnt grow like I thought it would. Started using Reddit more regularly again in September.

Now, I do still only use it in the browser, no app, so my usage of Lemmy still far surpasses Reddit.

But there are some communities that either never made the migration or faced active hostility, so, gotta go to Reddit to be a part of them 🤷‍♀️.

Until this thread, I didnt realize so many Lemmy users had an issue with Flying Squid. Perhaps its because I tend to agree with a lot of his takes, but I just find him abrasive at worst. Like…unafraid to not sugarcoat an uncomfortable truth.

Dudes definitely everywhere though.

I’m sorry, putting my face on a naked body that’s not mine is one thing, but I really do fear for the people whose likeness gets used in some degrading/depraved porn and it’s actually believable because it’s AI generated. That is SO much worse/psychologically damaging if they find out about it.

I’ve heard the theory that porn these days is so over the top and intense a lot of the times, that you can just turn off the sound to step porn and get more moderate, missionary, “plain” style porn if that’s your jam.

I have zero opinion either way, as I read my porn, this is just a hypothesis I’ve heard 🤷‍♀️

I’m honestly kind of shocked at this. I know for our annual evaluations this year, people were using ChatGPT to write their statements.

I thought for sure someone with a secret squirrel type job was going to use it for that innocuous purpose, end up inputting top secret information, and then the DoD would ban the practice completely.

Ugh yes. I canceled my Amazon Prime like 5 years ago, and swore off Amazon completely until they started streaming Vox Machina. Sucks that’s the service Critical Role went with, but it is what it is.

I should check out Tales from the Loop too… and cancel AppleTV now that Ted Lasso is over.
