Catholic school in the UK in the early 00s - basically “here’s what a condom is because the government says we have to show you, now wait till you’re married and don’t be gay”
My husband and I have been mistaken for brothers before so… Yeah
Oh wow this looks great, thanks
I sometimes use dailymotion for old tv shows that aren’t on the others - the app used to be alright, just another YouTube-esque clone, but now they seem to be trying to turn it into a reels/tiktok/shorts thing and it is Bad
This sounds like what you’re after :)
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, by Susanna Clarke - magical fantasy set in England around 1800, absolutely beautiful imo and one of those books you just live inside while you’re reading it
I often get an error when uploading pics I’ve taken on my pixel - figured out it’s something to do with the motion capture thing it does to get the best shot, the way to fix is just crop the photo a little, that forces it to resave as a single image and then it works fine
It’s not really smooth up close haha just standard sorta 0.2mm layer height, sanded down a little, then I spray painted them gold which hid some of the rough spots
And yeah I’m a big believer in repairable tech, 3d printers are huge in terms of being able to replace the kind of custom shaped plastic parts that the manufacturer doesn’t sell spares of and the appliance is completely unusable without (as I’m sure is the intention 🙄 planned obsolescence is truly one of the worst things we’ve ever come up with)
I mostly use mine for functional stuff, odd shaped brackets, pipe adaptors, electronics enclosures, so not very photogenic, but my two favourite things were a replacement door latch for the microwave, saved the cost of buying a new one, and a very nerdy bit of wall art 🖖
Self employed carpenter - depends on how you define “politics” but in general not much effect, people still want nice wooden stuff, but in more economical terms obv the worse the economy does the less spare money they have for them, and the more raw materials cost, and all of that is affected by politics
Can recommend the Air New Zealand sky couch - you book a slightly more expensive economy seat and get a whole row with a special footrest that folds all the way up flat turning it into a bed 👌
What a great and worthwhile use of huge amounts of power and water
My house is 1880s so that maybe, or I’ve got a few very old chisels and a spokeshave that are a comparable age
