How about no financial products, period. No loans, no mortgage, only rent-to-own or rent. Obfuscating financial products into more complex combined financial products is half of the economy crashes. Obfuscate the numbers, steal, grab, pillage while no one can understand what the frickel you are doing and BAM: profit on the backs of normies who are tOo dumb to understand what a margin call is or why CDO’s are here to violate you. All financial products are a scam waiting in ambush, waiting for another bank-bro to think of a way they can leach from society without giving anything back.

Well, cool, thanks! I just love it when corporations choose to destroy value from my devices years after purchase without my consent.
We have “Pluggerz” brand for a step up from the generic foam plugs, and some of their designs fit me well enough. Maybe they’ll fit your ears too. They’re around 10/20 euro
Hahaha, damn. I think I’d raise my eyebrows too if I saw you typing on that in the train. But hey, if it works, it works!
I like typing on my Surface Pro 7 on the go, how can a flabby shallow keyboard like that even be comfortable? I don’t know, but it is. I have a ducky one 3 keyboard with blue switches at home to compare with. I like typing on both of them :-)
Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•My mom tells me I should cut dad off for cheating on her, am I a bad person for not wanting to do so?241·29 days agoMy dad tried this same trick and wanted to influence my relationship with my mom (who had an affair). I told him I understand his feelings but that he could never talk that way to me again or I would cut him out of my life immediately. This is my mom you’re talking about.
I can’t have other folks then myself decide who I interact with. It’s not like I’m taking sides or feel great about her actions, but I wasn’t gonna stop seeing her because it hurts someone else.
I never was that direct with my parents before, but it felt like if that line would be crossed it would all come crumbling down.

Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Since it won't happen the other way around, how do I get people to approach ME in public?8·2 months agoWhere there’s a will, there’s a toupee . I am blessed with a full, thick, luscious dark blonde coupe, but everyone around being so negative about hairpieces made me think about them a lot… Following that, I have come to peace with the fact that I might go bald, and I might not like it, and rando hairpiece-haters around me won’t stop me from going all 18th century on my new hairpiece.
My first own house was in the middle of a lot of cultures that are different from my own, and man did those folks LOVE changing their hair every few days, with pieces or otherwise. Every second shop was selling surrogate hair, and it looked very cool. I think that part of those cultures is fucking rad, and it inspired me to pre-emptively accept my own future toupee, if it ever comes to that.

Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Developing a self-hosted alternative to Google KeepEnglish3·3 months agoI think I understand your requirements more clearly now, a framework for FOSS collaborative work would be really great. I Hope you can find a way to use Matrix for it. Thanks for the explanation.
Man, I loved the google docs realtime collab functionality, they pretty much nailed it day 1 in my eyes. It’s so easy. If your project works/takes off it should be a lot more straightforward for FOSS projects to incorporate it. Hype!
Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Developing a self-hosted alternative to Google KeepEnglish4·3 months agoHey Hey! What a fantastic idea, I sure hope you can manage!
I was immediately wondering why you wouldn’t hop on projects already out there. For example: I recently ditched google Keep // Trello for Joplin, which i think already ticks alot of your boxes, even Async collab should work (but not realtime, and you’d have to manually resolve conflicts). Maybe adding better collab in Joplin is a more efficient way to spend your time? LibreOffice also has Async collab, since I think about 6 months, so while it might be young, it will grow, and might also benefit from another person putting their time towards it.
Whatever you choose to do, I’ll be super interested to see the results.

Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?9·3 months agoI don’t think life is ‘less pointless’ if you procreate. It’s both very pointless, except for personal fulfilment. What should it matter if you follow a path that evolution laid out before you. With consciousness, there is no more reason to consider that path in my eyes, just do what feels right.
Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?3·3 months agoWell I’d be glad to try your idea, it doesn’t sound worse then what we have currently and the current state sucks old car tires.
Power accumulation in families would be through the roof. I get that it feels crude when you can’t pass on all your wealth to your children, but it would widen the wealth gap so so much in just a couple generations. Is there another reason you think it should be untaxable?
