Settings synchronization between every device would be a big plus.

I’m really happy with Voyager on iOS, but an app for my linux computer would be welcome as I’m kind of struggling with how Lemmy appears in Firefix.

Same as you, I feel I have enough, at least when it’s hooked up to the screen.

As long as a computer has 4 usb-c ports, I think you’re covered for everything.

Yes we had more different ports back in the days, but most were never used.

Usb-c is way more practical. Still that implies that you have more than 2 Usb-c ports.

I understand why Mozilla would want to keep the money coming from Google, but it might also be good for them to be less dependent from Google.

Nothing is preventing them from cutting deals with other search engines if they want to keep doing that.

I only used Reddit for two years, but I’m now really happy I made the jump to Lemmy.

Sadly, I can only agree that some niche content is difficult to find.

But I can’t complain because I’m not creating any of that content and moderating some community.

Peertube is really really great.

I think what would help a lot is if creators had the ability to say you can watch x amount of videos without supporting me and then you support me through whatever platform.

It would then be really viable for creators and consumers. The creators are getting such a small amount of money from every video watched on Youtube, they would get more there.

I’m on Tilvids and it works great.

If they could let you create real polls to vote, it would be nice too.

Well it happened to me mostly in technology communities where my job as a police man in a country without too much corruption was giving me a different point of view than people who were seeing a corrupt government spying on them all the time.

Yeah there are clearly some toxic people who won’t tolerate anything different than them. They can be leftists or rightists who are gonna hate you for whatever reason.

I didn’t have this feeling on reddit to be honest.

Well with a touch screen you have to look at what you’re doing.

With physical buttons, you don’t have to since they have a shape.

Well we can use computers, consoles and TV’s which are 15 years old everyday and still connected to the internet.

I know it’s not doable right now, but I think we should change the way we consume and get rid of technology.

And I’m not talking about a car that you can use for way more than 15 years reliably.

I don’t think there would be any advantage in stopping yearly releases.

I think individuals should stop buying new phones often and that you should still be able to use a 15 year old phone just like you can use a 15 year old computer without security risks (with Linux).

That’s what the system or laws should encourage.

I hope it’s still the case as I have Tidal subscription, but they were the ones giving the most money per stream to the artist.

I wouldn’t want to move to another streaming platform unless they are even better for artists.

Well judging from what you see on Lemmy a lot of people would be willing to pay. What’s missing on Peertube is the ability for a creator to lock his videos behind a paywall in a « you wanna watch? Pay me » way.

Nick from the Linux Experiment was explaining that he was making something like 0.02 Euros per view on Youtube and that people supporting him directly were bringing so much more without being at the mercy of an algorithm.

Supporting him for 1 Euro a month is fine with the amount of what I’m watching from him on Peertube, paying 5 dollars a month to watch everything Linus Tech Tips produces on Floatplane is a bit too much for me…
