Could be worth looking into Misophonia. Basically it’s an irrational anger response to specific noises that vary person to person. I don’t know enough about it to say how it can be dealt with, but it may be something you could find a specialist for.

Ech@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•PSA - Lemmy dropped 0.19, your instance may have some downtimeEnglish231·1 year agoI pitty the poor, volunteer admins facing clueless users dealing with downtime. “You said it’d only be an hour! WHAT’S GOING ON!?!?”
Ech@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Second largest Lemmy instance preemptively un-friends FacebookEnglish0·2 years agoI find your hyperbolic outrage over nothing “distasteful” and “disrespectful”. Go to another instance if you feel so strongly instead of trying to rile up some sort of revolt against the admins as if that would accomplish anything.

After a definitive statement is made one way or the other, then you can start freaking out. Until then, just stop it with the conspiratorial garbage.

Just subscribe to all of them if you’re that worried about missing something. It’s really not that complicated.
Also, stop worrying about reenacting your Reddit experience. Lemmy is not Reddit. Figure out what you like about Lemmy and focus on enhancing that instead of stressing about forcing Lemmy into your preconceived notion of what it should be.
Gonna be another spike in the next week, so probably not soon, but it will die down.
Ech@lemmy.worldto science@lemmy.world•People Can Be Convinced They Committed a Crime That Never Happened1·2 years agoGood time to reiterate - Never talk to the police. They are not your friend. Anything you say will be used against you. They will do anything they can get away with to get an admission, or just steal your property because they can.
Don’t Talk to The Police (lecture featuring a lawyer and a retired cop detailing why it will never help to talk).
They would still control it more than they did in Netflix, so it’s still upside in their eyes.
