The website owner who pays to keep their site up with ads and write stuff on their site. I read a lot of stuff on small sites so I feel a little bad, but I’m not wasting bandwidth to let them play video ads on a static site.

Yeah thats pretty much the beyond 1 also. I wasn’t expecting anything different in pricing. Also you only really need 2 base stations
Good experience is debatable. A lot of the games on standalone quest run at like 40 fps, which isn’t unplayable for me, but I’d rather run it on my gaming pc except for I can’t because theres so much quest exclusives
This makes no sense. Aren’t there like a billion us millitary bases there.
Yeah but have you considered that it is funny to have getty watermarks
Why tf is PGP, tesseract ocr, and deepl on this list. Deepl is literally just a machine translation service, users don’t post onto it. tesseract ocr is a downloadable software for ocr. PGP is encryption.
cp command works well too
That doesn’t affect people not in china or not bordering china.
Nah, most of the good meta vr tech was from john carmack. Ever since he left the company to do ai stuff, the meta software has gotten worse and worse. There was an issue a month ago where quest headsets were being literally bricked (bootloader errors) from an update and meta had to go and replace all the headsets affected by the bug.
Yeah but I personally don’t like seated vr games. If I’m playing a game seated I would rather play on a monitor where I can see the real world.
Im not a furry but I see a lot of furries on VRChat. Most non bigots on vrchat play in friends+ worlds because there aren’t trolls if they have to know someone to get in.
Their goal is to create phones with floating screens. At the point where quest 3 is, ignoring the weight and slightly janky hand controls I can see the vision and future technology could make that real, but I don’t think its good for society. VR games also will never be mainstream since they require movement. I love VR gaming a lot, but 99% of people will try it once and never again. Its inherently niche. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on vr gear though so I don’t really mind if all VR games are niche since I like the janky indie games.
Porn / ai gf. Thats what 90% of ai power users do.
Dang. My motorola phone is pretty awesome though. Idk what I’ll get after this thing’s lifespan is done.
The student id’s use nfc here. Nothing to scan.
The university that I’m at is trying to get new students to use a digital student id that uses google wallet for scanning I think. They aren’t giving any new students physical student id’s unless they need it for something that doesn’t work with the digital ones.
So yeah some people do need google wallet.
idk I was using a 12 year old cpu and it worked fine for gaming. Only upgraded because I wanted to compile stuff in reasonable timeframes.
But they just personally don’t want that on their instance while they create the lemmy software that allows for everyone to speak their opinions.
I’ve spent years reading shitty machine translations of novels, its incomparable to something that a human translated
