Sometimes an open source project is too niche for anyone to take notice. I myself am developing a networking reliability layer ported from C to modern C++ and I’ve yet to see a person use it except yours truly. Sad truth.
Good reminder. Subbed to patreon
Samsung has also had it for quite a long time. Pretty much lots of recent mainline android additions seem to be a port of Samsung software. Repair mode, quick share, now offline find my device. They do seem to benefit from each other though, and that’s a good thing.
Droidify has never ever even suggested me an update in the background. Like ever. The option is enabled in the settings. I always have to launch it manually and refresh to see new updates idk. FDroid app on the other hand works flawlessly, including the newest one.
Could be a coincidence but I see the word “nazi” mentioned most by blahaj.zone accounts. Is everything okay?
I don’t mind the second one but the first one is literally bypassing post filters.
I honestly don’t get the idea of an outrage specifically right here and right now. I do understand why people may have issues with Kagi but only now? Kagi has also been using Yandex as its search backend for quite a while and I don’t think anyone gave a crap, considering all the things happening in the world. And now adding Brave is suddenly “I am not paying you anymore”? Am I missing something?
This. One of the reasons I couldn’t use DDG for more than a week, and I still kept using !g inbetween. Kagi is the way to go for me.
Pretty sure both of them have something to benefit from in this scenario. Knowing how often they partner up, might be true. Most likely Samsung will just give up the feature name and favor Google’s option as a transparent replacement. Google gets the feature name, Samsung gets to brag it is now compatible with all other Android devices. Ez.
I’d personally at least give them a chance. Defederating is a pretty easy process and can be performed at any point in time. At least some Threads users may as well get to know about Lemmy and switch to it.
Upd: yes I do understand many people don’t trust Meta and neither do I. But I also understand lots and lots of users here are using anonymous accounts, and federation information is already public to begin with. Combining the fact that Fediverse may gain more than it may lose, including more users, original content, recognition and etc, I generally think it’s worth the risk. I am generally content with any decision, just sharing my two pennies of thought.
WinRAR attitude, I respect that o7
And Kagi just lists it as the first result when searching for “tpb”. Hope they’re not jumping on the train any time soon
Apparently, not anymore: https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-exynos-no-rebranding-3389743/
They kinda miss the point why people don’t like Exynos.
Not only it’s generally inferior, but you also pay the same for the worse product which also has the same name. And it depends on where you live, lol.
I wouldn’t mind existence of Exynos in, let’s say, S21 Ultra, if it was either cheaper, or there was a legit choice which version to purchase, or even better, both. I definitely dislike paying full price for worse product with no realistic choice, and the name doesn’t matter at all.
I live in Georgia (the country) and I am speaking mostly of internet experience. Yeah it could include non-native speakers, that’s why I mentioned “most people I know”. I still prefer the way you mentioned as it’s much clearer anyway.
No 12/24h, only unix timestamps.
On a serious note, anything that other people understand works. 6-oh-five isn’t a mistake but I generally hear “5 past 6” from most people.
Whatever Alexa says is probably meant to be localizable to other languages as well.
Anything but mobile-only vendor-specific ones. Telegram rocks.
