Isn’t this the RockPi? Or is the RockPi just based on the RK3588? It’s great for open-source but good lord are these SBC’s astronomically high.

I love Tabby simply because it allows me to set it up like the drop down terminal in Quake. Specifically its capabilities make my use of it easier and far more capable than something like guake.

Really wish I could see popularity spanning over years rather than a quarter. Maybe I’m missing a setting somewhere I’m not seeing.

How would you police this without direct abuse?

It’s pretty easy to spot deep fakes, even now. The type of porn being created in deep fakes are just too unbelievable when it comes to actors and actresses. They’re not deep faking intimate love porn, it’s nearly always straight up deep hardcore pornography that is being made when deep fakes are involved. I feel like everything described that is so evil is just a straw man argument. Hell anyone that believes deep hardcore pornography is what just happens in reality is a moron. The amount of bullshit incest porn on these same websites is just bonkers. That being said I can see how it can affect some people.

But guess what? Humans tend to look similar so how do you go stop it when you don’t know if it’s real or fake? How crazy easy will it be to create yet another advantage to those in power/financial success? Examples:

Politician is seeing a prostitute and abusing his status to do so. The prostitute records a secret sex tape of him raping her and threatening to have her arrested if she doesn’t submit to what he wants. This video goes public. Politician claims it’s a deep fake and prostitute is arrested anyway. Or the reverse. A prostitute deep fakes the video and threatens the politician. The politician just had information coming out of him glancing at another woman than his wife before the deep fake and so the populace just sides with the prostitute and the politician is arrested.

Or how about a woman who looks just like Taylor Swift decides she wants to work in pornography. Her likeness is immediately noticed and it’s part of her popularity but not billed as such. T swizzle claims it’s a deep fake to disparage her and the porn actress is ruin if not sued into oblivion.

So many scenarios could go either way. You can’t ban the technology because you’ll never be able to legitimately be able to know which is which. And just like cryptography banning it will not limit access to those who would use it lawfully.

So what’s the solution? Get over the lunacy of the whole event? What options do we really have? And being we don’t have many/any options all we’re doing is sending clicks to news sites who have nothing else to write about. I’m not saying it’s not a problem, just not seeing a solution and don’t see a need to continually beat a dead horse.

Regardless of capability a human will have a bias. So maybe have multiple humans of varying beliefs and then have the AI train to remove the bias?

Very possible for AAA games. But that’s also the reason some indie games are hitting it out of the park so it’s not all downside when AAA games are censored. That being said Baldur’s Gate 3’s success, I’m sure, opened publishers eyes.

Yeah I have an Rpi Zero for interfacing cheaper devices with HomeKit so I feel you. I’m just not going to use an Echo Dot when I already have a bunch of HomePods lol.

Sadly a Kobo doesn’t support my Kindle library without a good bit of extra steps that, from my experience, can wreck some books.

Yeah they usually won’t do this unless you’ve owned it for a while or purchased a considerable amount of content via the device. Also depends on how adamant you are about having them remove it.

I mean those Echo Dots come with a huge hit to your privacy as a cost. Not to mention how susceptible the Echo Dot has been in the past. Hell some expeditious hackers even got the Echo Dot to hack itself.

Any management that would greenlight a global version of a game centered around Chinese restrictions is a moron. Not once have restrictions gone well for ANY game much less one with an already existing player base.

I mean when Microsoft purchased Bethesda it made things better than they were at the time and we got access to a lot more older titles. Just look at what Redfall was and then compare it to Starfield. Microsoft didn’t have any hands in Redfall but did in Starfield.

Yeah my family knows better. I don’t call anyone either plus I’ve got all of my family on DEFCON 1 when it comes to asking for money. Had someone try and scam my mom via Facebook pretending to be my sister. I have family members contacting me ALL the time with issues with their stuff so they don’t trust anything at all.

This all stems from myself getting scammed nearly 20 years ago via email so I’ve educated everyone immensely.

Not to mention size. Assembly is so incredibly small without all the code interpretation and library overhead. I remember some of the old warez scene exe’s for DOS that were a few kilobytes but ended up being a huge video quality intro. Some lasting minutes. Rather than a few seconds.

How do you see it making us stupid? I mean we’re already on the path to Idiocracy at this point. I feel like it can help us conquer lots of menial tasks allowing our brains to be tasked with other things. YouTube is a perfect example of what we have so far. Sure a LOT of people are getting to be more stupid but we’ve advanced so quickly in our current world of instant information. If we no longer have to do menial tasks then our time will be open for greater things.

How do we not have an AI that does our taxes yet? The greatest hurtle at the moment is that everything is monetized to the gills and these LLM’s are not real AI.

Not to mention it’s a form factor that requires a considerable amount of space. That for the majority of users is doing nothing but taking up that space for no reason. Every phone without a headphone jack is capable of getting a jack with a simple dongle. What I love are the people who have absolute no problem with a dangly cord around their neck but lose their shit if you have to connect a 1 inch piece of wire first. They act like it’s a bag phone you attach to your side. And as far as audio fidelity goes the DAC inside a cell phone is nearly always garbage and you’ll need your own DAC anyway which is easy to obtain when it can be powered by your phone.
