I know so many metal heads, that I would have to say: it depends on the type of metal they’re into. The one thing they really tend to have in common, though, is they have personalities very much in contrast to the style in which they dress and what you might think hearing the music. Same for when you post. I’ve noticed about an average of about 20 minutes before my posts are visible on other instances.

In the future, I would recommend assuming that anything you post to Lemmy or any other website/social media will be up there forever because once it’s out in the open, it may be entirely impossible to remove every single instance of that post from every single thing that copied it. The server may be malicious itself and not honor any deletion requests, as well as users who may have seen the post archived it themselves.

I don’t know how you came to such a wildly bad conclusion. There are other caveats needed to make what you said even remotely accurate. Like if you’re a billionaire and everyone always agrees with you, you’re probably wrong most of the time.

I thought Twitter was a stupid idea when it first started. 140 character limit? What the fuck is the point? The fact they increased that limit shows it was dumb. Everything else about the site just gives further reason to hate it.

I wouldn’t say it’s mainstream just because there are a few affordable options. It’s still a niche subset of gaming in general.

And guess what? A fancy piece of hardware isn’t going to make it happen. It needs software! Part of the reason VR is stagnating is because it doesn’t have any good fucking games. You’ve got a ton of shit that is no more than a 5-10 minute experience you’d check out once and then never again. You’ve got one, maybe two, actually good games that take full advantage of what VR can do. And that’s it. What good is a VR headset if there is nothing to fucking do in it? Which is exactly what sucks about the Vision Pro. Thing is $3500 and has next to nothing to run on it (like even less than a Quest or PSVR) lol

Fucking twice have I had basically all my belongings tossed out by someone else.

When I was 19, I went to work on a cruise ship for 5 months. When I came back, my parents had sold or trashed literally everything I owned except for my bed, my desk and chair, and my computer. All my books, all my toys, collectibles, games and consoles, all the posters on my wall… Gone.

I got married at 32 and my wife did the same fucking thing (not through divorce, either).

I’ve had things stolen from me from time to time by strangers; none of them hurt as much as having literally everything you own taken by your own family.

I totally believe in love at first sight. Because I have BPD and that’s literally a symptom of it. If you fall in love at first sight: it’s a sign of mental illness. 🙃

Although I do agree with the sentiment of “innocent until proven guilty” and give benefit of the doubt without sufficient evidence of any actual wrongdoing. Someone simply saying someone did something isn’t proof enough of anything, considering lying exists and can come from either side of the story.

Also, kicking people when they’re down isn’t something new or special or unique to SM. It’s been part of human nature since the dawn of fucking time.

I hate things on my face. Glasses, masks, creams, etc. Covid mask requirements drove me crazy. Still followed them because I’m not an idiot or an asshole, but, boy was I always happy to get the fuck back to my car or home so I could remove it.

I also hate cacophonies. A single loud sound is annoying but not unbearable. Being in a crowded space where hundreds of people are talking, even at a normal volume, however, is maddening. I used to have recurring nightmares about people coming up to speak to me and when they opened their mouth, it was just that murmuring sound of a large crowd. Shit gives me the willies. 😬

I remember reading once that like 99% of hitmen hired to do a job take the money and just go to the police to snitch on the person paying them. The average payment was also only like $3-5000. Which is small potatoes.

Very much not like the movies. But then again, if they took the money and ran that means they got paid in advance and who does that? Even in the movies, the hitman takes payment after the job is done!

My cheap-o ($40; uses a knock-off of CherryMX switches) mechanical keyboard doesn’t have the option to turn the lights off or change how they display. It also doesn’t turn off when the system is in sleep mode; only when totally powered off. :(
