Sorry if this question is easily answerable by reading and I’m just missing it. But I genuinely don’t really understand what this product does or what its use case is. Is it a usb stick that gives you kvm access to a computer from a remote location? Like call up someone in another building ‘hey plug the jet into tower X so I can remote in?’ In which case how is this better/worse/just different from a software solution like Barrier? Sorry if I’m being borderline deliberately obtuse but the website gives no info on the home page at all.

I get that it’s easy to be pissed at me for shooting down something that smells a little hopeful. But I’m not who you should be mad at. Only community can provide that without a corrupted motivation and there are even places here on lemmy with resources that can help. Are you actually trying to advocate that uber, lyft, and Airbnb have all been net positives for the working class? Yes I will absolutely say it again, trusting the idea that ‘tech bros’ are going to provide the answers to scoieties ills like homelessness and that Airbnb and uber are good examples of that happening is fucking laughable.

There’s a difference between non profit organizations establishing safe haven spaces for people living in their cars and a company that pays people to sleep in their lots and provide security instead of hiring actual security.

I don’t think it can be done, and thinking tech bros can solve shit is how we got Elon musk yall.

No way any insurance company ever underwrites this ever and that kills it’s scalability, let alone basic implementation immediately. Like yes we need to solve the housing crisis, but thinking that salvation has any chance of coming from “tech bros” is laughable at best and wildly dangerous at medium worse.

Oh you got banned from news too? I called someone a dingus and the comment got deleted. Someone asked what the comment said and I replied saying I called someone a dingus and why and included an apology for calling someone a dingus in the first place. Apparently that counted as calling someone a dingus for a second time so a mod banned me for a week with a nice ‘enjoy your ban’ message. Thankfully there are other mods that are more reasonable and actually had a constructive conversation about things after the fact. Totally accepted the ban cause I broke a rule and was rude but yea, one of those people isn’t doing the team a lot of favors.

Thank you for this reply as it genuinely helped me understand where you’re coming from better. FWIW I would offer the perspective that you’re not a sideshow, but you do get to be an important case in medical science that might some day provide clues to our understanding of the human body. And thats a pretty cool fuckin claim to have. Your body is special and condition unique enough that it might teach us more about how we all work and I think that’s something you came at least take some pride in amongst all the weirdness. Thank you for sharing this. Don’t let my previous comment make you feel bad for doing things to try and make yourself feel more normal and ok with what happening to and around you, I completely understand that now. And here’s hoping the delivery went or is about to go safe and easy and you’re able to enjoy this time with your child.

I’m struggling to reconcile the tone of not wanting attention because of this and the sense you want to deal with this privately. But agreed to do a news story and photoshoot, and now are exposing your whole story, with pictures, to social media. I’m all for support and community while dealing with a truly difficult experience. I just am struggling to understand what feels like a disconnect between how you feel and your actions to me. Hope things turn out for the best.

People who last 17 years do, in fact, leave their partners if the trust is irrevocably broken and the love is lost entirely. It seems more likely you took my statement of leave, and applied a meme to it and then hopped up on a fairly high horse. My advice is based on a couple decades of adult relationships and life. From reading the post, this is not a ‘oh we can work on it and figure this out together’ situation. This reads very much like a ‘this person may actually be dangerous in the long run’. In which case yeah pack a fucking bag and call your lawyer. Your comment, while antagonistic and condescending, was also naive and immature.
