Had a friend who got a microwave that instead of a numpad it had a dial like a volume knob. It was so irritating for some reason to twist it and then have to turn it the opposite way to correct it. Like you wanted 45 seconds and you’d twist and it’s be at 1:30, youd scroll back, 35… 50, fuck it good enough. I just would twist it to a number and then stop it 45 seconds in after I realized it was that way
Some noise I do like though, if a store is dead quiet it feels like you can’t talk to anyone or even ask a vendor a question without being the attention of everyone in the surrounding area. There is a bit of privacy to a bit of noise. Though I agree to much is terrible.
I’m fairly certain they set his charges without bail. If so it means no amount of money would allow him out. (For the time until his court cases)

The one Google extension I liked they killed years ago. It was Chrome to Phone. Basically when I was at my computer and saw an article I wanted to read later Id click it and it would send it to a new chrome tab on my phone. And when on break at work I could look at / read whatever it was.

Most people are expecting language models to do shit that aren’t meant to. Most of it isn’t new technology but old tech that people slapped a label on as well. I wasn’t playing Soul Caliber on the Dreamcast against AI openents… Yet now they are called AI opponents with no requirements to be different. GoldenEye on N64 was man VS AI. I shoot for opening between 0-1. So it clears the timer and doesn’t beep. It was either get good at that, or check the manual for how to turn off the beep noise, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to learn how to read.
