When viewing images I see a [HD] button on the top right next to the download button. Clicking that will just convert the image to HD.

It’s honestly depressing at how Lemmy has turned over the last few months since I joined. I would now never mention I use the site or recommend it to others. There’s just too many fucking landmines for new users to step over to have a good experience here.

I’m sticking with it for the time being, but I don’t see myself ever using it again if it gets worse.

You mentioning the car thing is so true. Anytime you mention stuff about cars here, you’ll get the typical comment reply using it as a soapbox platform to say how cars are the devil.

I could be wrong but I had a deja vu moment thinking back when the manga first came out. Could have sworn the fan translation team just randomly stopped working on it and there was no other team to take over, so the translations stopped for a few weeks.

It was either this series or another I was reading back then.

Earthbound did that thing with the final boss. A pirated copy would have more enemies on the screen and it would also crash before the final boss

Game dev tycoon had a thing were the pirated version of the game would be harder as it was coded that pirates would steal the games you make. I thought that last one was absolutely genius lol. You can now toggle the pirate mode in the settings to experience it yourself.

My sister was being sexually harassed online by a guy online for years. He would cyberstalk everything she did and she then tried to get the police to help after she couldn’t handle it anymore.

The cop that came to our house blamed my sister for it. Told her she must have done something to get this guys attention even though she never met him or spoke to him before.

I told another person I knew about the guy and she messaged him. The guy sent her a dick pic. She was 15.

If you wanna watch a half hour documentary about how pathetic the guy is, then please watch this video with over 500k views about him. It’s crazy to think my sister called the cops on the guy over a decade ago and because of that one cop, the guy was able to so much bad he got half a million views online for it.

Damn I wish more vape places were like the one I go to locally. They ask people who buy the disposals to drop them off back at the shop and they then recycle all of them after the box fills up.

My hatred for CenturyLink is only 2nd to what Suddenlink put my family through. It took an FCC complaint against Suddenlink for them to come fix our phone lines/Internet/security system that were all down for a full month before they actually came to fix it. They had to actually reply to the FCC complaint within 10 days.

I only made that complaint after a Suddenlink worker said that there wasn’t an outage like we had thought for the last 3 weeks. They then said the automated message that stated “your location has an outage” was fake and just what they were using to stop people from calling.

We worked from home and had to rely on mobile hotspots. Was all during covid so it was even harder for going out to have a safe place to work.

Had a kid almost kicked out of my middle school for faking something similar.

During lunch one day, he crushed some sugar packets on an Oreo before giving it to another kid. Then jokingly told the kid he gave him a crushed up Ritalin covered Oreo. They all knew it was a joke since he crushed the sugar packet in front of him, but the kid hated the other guy so he told a teacher.

I think criminal charges were charged against him. The kid had to go get his stomach pumped in the chance it was actually Ritalin.

The other kid had gone to a disciplinary school for a full year before being allowed back for his 8th grade year.

I think I noticed that if a commenter deleted their comment then the total comments would go down by 1. On a post with only one comment that also got deleted, it made it show as -1 comments.
