Who is going to actually pay for all this AI junk once all the investors decide it’s time to stop “disrupting the market and gaining share” and time to start charging people what it actually costs to run (plus margins)?
Like, I use ChatGPT and Copilot and shit because it’s free, but if it were $5/month I’d happily walk away.
Yes, this is what tariffs do.
These are some stupid company names.
LOL what kinda bullshit comment is this?
The people in the White House are idiots. They choose Signal because they’re either dumb/negligent -or- because they have been intentionally avoiding record preservation requirements.
Signal is a solid app for sure, but these dipshits didn’t choose it for being the right tool for the job here, as it certainly is not.
What kind of first-world county would let it slip?
Glances nervously in US
AI-generated stories are stories written by humans, but watered-down and plagiarized. AI would not be able to write stories without stealing training from human-made stories.
Good luck with that
No horizontal tab grouping. Tab groups on Chrome are perfect, and the Firefox tab extensions all suck in comparison.
That said, I’m still using Firefox today because the internet is unusable without a good ad blocker.
Quality is reason. No stream is as good as a UHD copy of a movie when it comes to audio and video.
There’s an argument to be made for DRM-free digital downloads over UHD discs, though those aren’t easy to obtain legally (in case legality actually matters to the user).
How would that help here? The only thing Amazon is removing is the ability to download your purchased eBooks to your PC.
Am I an idiot for enjoying my Kindle Paperwhite as an eReader, while at the same time never actually buying books from Amazon?
Specifically, the Blackwall.
Pretty crazy how prescient Cyberpunk (and Neuromancer, etc.) are looking right now.
Yeah, who is there to compete with? (The somehow-way-worse) NetSuite?
It’s a nice way to search for content or answers without all the ads that websites have nowadays. Of course, it’s only a matter of time until the AI/LLM responses are surrounded by (or embedded with) ads as well.
And MORE prominent brands, as Sony still makes them and Panasonic still makes the best ones.
For real. I use Boost and I set it to block “trump” and “musk”, which instantly made Lemmy 100x better. Probably time to add “bluesky” to that list.
Because we all hate corpos.
Also, uBlock kills all this stuff.
