What sold me on RGB was when I learned that you can do more with it than just solid colors and rainbow vomit. You can actually use the lights as pixels, and display crude images that are actually visible if you use use enough lights and squint your eyes a bit.

When I first found out about that, I went from anti-RGB to RGB all the things in my latest build. RGB motherboard, RGB RAM, RGB AIO, RGB fans, RGB keyboard and mouse, RGB cables… Anything to increase the “pixel” count for a clearer image. I wanted to buy even more but then I ran out of RGB ports on the motherboard.

No they just made my nicotine addiction worse.

The gum worked, though. Started with the 4mg dose, dropped down to two; by the time I worked my way down to an 8th of a piece of a time, I thought to myself, “wait, do I really need to be doing this?” and that was it.

Haven’t craved nicotine since 2018.

I got lucky and scored a 4090 at a discount on launch day. I think I’ll just hang onto it for a few more generations. It still has plenty of power to run everything at 4K 120Hz especially with DLSS Balanced, (except Indiana Jones; that game is extremely demanding), which I use anyway cause IMO it looks better than AA.

I disagree whole-heartedly. The maps in Odyssey feel so empty and devoid of life. And there’s way too many moons to collect, completely ruining the sense of accomplishment you get grabbing one.

Yeah no shit. They haven’t released a decent Zelda since Minish Cap (Link’s Awakening doesn’t count cause it’s a remake). Not a decent Mario game since Super Mario Sunshine, either. They actually went backwards with that series, and started doing side-scrollers again! I got sick of 2D games in the 90s!

I just don’t understand why people keep giving this company money. They haven’t released a decent game or system in over 20 years!

I understand that but I wasn’t about to go full English teacher on people. Maybe it’s condescending, but when speaking in public or online, I prefer to explain things in a simplified way that the general public can understand. My girlfriend likes to accuse me of mansplaining; I won’t argue that it is an incorrect assessment.

I don’t think I have that because I recall music the same way. Usually it’s just the chorus or a verse playing on loop, though, and the actual song never sounds exactly how I remember it.

No I can picture things in my head, just not as a vivid image. Images in my mind are vague and detail-less. Like dreams. Mostly I remember the emotions associated with the memory, not what my surroundings looked like at the time.

FWIW I have ADHD, so asking me to remember anything with any sort of detail is already a challenge enough as-is.

That said, there is no such thing as hearing protection that doesn’t muffle high frequencies at least somewhat. But what you can do instead is buy earbuds with ANC + audio pass through and foam tips. But keep in mind that the audio will be colored by the frequency response of the headphones, making live audio sound more like a recording. You’ll still get the benefits of the live experience, however, because you’ll still be able to feel the bass.

Keep in mind that these kind of earbuds are basically hearing aids, however. So they won’t be cheap. They’re known as “hearables” and “OTC hearing aids”. And not all of them form a seal around your ear, which means that not all of them are suitable for hearing protection. Which why you’ll need to do your homework and find some that have foam tips. Also be prepared to spend hundreds, possibly thousands.

Or you can just deal with a little bit of muffled audio and buy the Etymotic earplugs. That’s what I would do.

Speaking of brains, my girlfriend claims that when she imagines something in her head, she sees a detailed image in front of her, as real as real life. Meanwhile thoughts in my head are just concepts and words. I mean I can imagine what something looks like, but it’s an abstract of the basic concept of the thing, not a detailed image in my mind. It takes a strong psychedelic for me to be able to picture something in my head with detail, but according to her apparently I’m the weird one.
