I really don’t use the phone unless I go out. It has my shopping list, I scan my worksheet, listen to music, messaging, a phone call once in a while.
Briar. It was designed just for this. All traffic routes through Tor, it can also send messages using wifi, data, or bluetooth. There are no central servers to hack, seize, or takedown. Pretty much the entire internet would need to be killed off.
As for face-to-face communications - that’s been done for centuries to fight the good fight. No reason that can’t continue.
Logi Pebble Mouse 3 M350s. It can connect via bluetooth with three devices.

I’m aware but it’s worth saying for the new people. :-)
I have a new strategy on the Duress. If a thief can easily reset the phone, which is what the Duress password does, they can sell the phone at a pawnshop. I now use a Duress pin that the cops will have access to but a thief wouldn’t. Examples of this are date or birth, s.i.n.
People have signs on their front lawn showing who they support. In a way, your hypothetical has been happening for decades. A lot of people don’t hide who they vote for.
I take my prescriptions, get my vaccines, wear a mask while in stores and at work, and try to get a good nights sleep.
I’m trying to eat healthier than I have been. Cutting out junk food helps with the cost of this.
I’m doing a combination of lifting weights and bodyweight moves. Going for high rep range for the metabolic overload. This gets the heart pumpin. My metabolism is still revved up from my workout that ended an hour ago.
I’m finding The Bioneer on Youtube to be a great source of information on this.
It’s never happened but “Whatever, there’s the door”

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We really don’t get natural disasters here.
The closest we get in Halifax is a Cat 3 hurricane once every 3 or 4 years, multiple blizzards each winter, we get light freezing rain once a year and a significant amount about every 10 years.
We lose power for a few hours many times per year because our power company is privately owned and has to answer to shareholders.
I once went without power for 3 days.
Could be a lot worse.
You didn’t say how much, from lowest to highest income level:
Retire
Help every homeless person in my city, then my county, my province.
Order or build locally, tiny homes for all the homeless in my city. Expand outwards if I had money left.
Buy the local power corp and run it as a nonprofit.
Three days. I just wasn’t tired. The extra free time was great but I was getting worried.
Years before that I was awake for 36 hours. This didn’t end well, which is why the more recent episode was starting to worry me. I was coasting down a hill on a bicycle and fell asleep. I nodded off just long enough to lose my balance. 3 stitches in my head ( I still have the bump as a reminder ), left knee swollen like a football, lots of roadrash.
I’m very glad I didn’t have a drivers’ license at the time as this could have been much worse.
First, I check the lower power company’s website for an estimate of when the power will come back on. If no one reported the outage, I’ll take a few minutes to do so. We usually have the battery powered lights out during a storm, if it’s a surpise outage, I go fetch the lights.
If the outage is going to be longer than 6 hours, I go buy some gas for the generator. I pour what isn’t used during the outage into the car’s fuel tank.
I use an rss reader on my phone with a lot of saved articles. I try to get through some of those.
When it to stops raining or snowing I pull the genny out of the shed, fuel it, get it running. Next, I run a few extension cords for the fridge and freezer.
Thank you. I have to admit when I’m wrong. Doubling down is just cringe.
Yeah, I thought about that at work today. I should have said ‘Bluesky is developing a “group think” culture’.
To each their own.
I’ll use an app if its made with privacy in mind or the website sucks rocks.
