the reason I’m still talking with you is because I want to demonstrate to everyone one of the other controversies around LTT, that being the toxic fanbase that’s as rabid as Elon’s or Trump’s. and you played along fantastically, dutifully playing the part of fanboy for everyone to see. so for that, I thank you.

it’s not independent if the guilty party pays for it. that’s called a “conflict of interest”.

ah, yes, the good old “we paid somebody to listen to our side of the story and they naturally found nothing wrong”.

as I said, I didn’t post that link to convince you, because you’re not interested in considering it. the link is for everyone else. you can keep on believing whatever it is you want, but since you can’t edit my comment you don’t have any way to stop anyone else from considering the facts.

Funny you should bring up touching people in that context, because sexual harassment is the reason LTT stopped producing videos for awhile.

I would keep going, but we both know you aren’t going to read or watch those videos, so this comment is more for the other people who might be curious about it. And honestly I think your behavior makes the arguments against LTT look better, for no other reason than assholes tend to be followed by smaller, less famous assholes.

There are a ton of videos about his shittiness going back years from quite a few people, you could easily find them if you wanted to.

But I don’t get why you don’t just admit you don’t care about that history, it’s a lot less effort than whatever it is you’re trying to convince people of here.

Well, NASA was in the process of doing that already. It’s still on the calendar, but who knows if Trump will let it continue or not.

except that neither the article nor the vendor website even come close to claiming it uses a neural network. the article even says

all the Pizza Intelligence does is use sensors to make sure the pizza doesn’t burn. it is literally as “dumb” as the humidity sensor in a dryer.

If that’s AI, then my ten year old dryer has AI because of the sensor that tells it how much humidity is in the air so it knows when my clothes are dry.

And my washer is AI because it knows how much water to add based on how much the load weighs.

And the air bag in my car is AI because it knows when I’ve gotten in a crash.

That’s not AI. It just has sensors to tell when the pizza is done. Sounds like the author just wanted to earn some money, so they used AI as a clickbait buzzword to generate ad revenue.

it’s the same principal of using one lemmy/piefed mobile client over another. my comments are still going to the fediverse, but if you’re using one software, you aren’t supporting the growth of another. even if other instances can see the things I post, that’s not their growth, since at any time I can cut them off if I do not like the behavior of their users.

as for features, piefed has a few significant things that lemmy does not have. for example, problematic users have a big red or yellow warning sign next to their name everywhere they go, showing that that person has low or very low reputation. at a certain threshold that I set, I can also automatically hide downvoted posts and comments. there’s also built-in user notes, so I can tag users and have that tag display next to their name as well.

and finally, piefed has actual user/instance blocking. for example, we found out the hard way that by having .ML as an instance blocked in my personal settings, no .ML users were able to comment on my posts or reply to my comments at all, even though my instance is federated with them.

there’s also a lot more settings when it comes to communities. while it was still on lemmy, we used to have a lot of .world users downvoting every post in !libjerk@anarchist.nexus, simply because they found the content offensive and did not interact in any other way. downvotes affect discoverability in /all, so those liberals were in effect trying to censor us because they don’t like being criticized. we’ve even had to deal with people using alts as zombies for downvoting. now that we’ve moved the comm to piefed, we can restrict the people who are allowed to downvote as much as we want, so that sort of abuse is impossible now.

I moved off of lemmy because I didn’t want to use software made by a tankie, so no.

I would recommend something a little cheaper, perhaps an ASUS laptop. They have some solid ones, and you won’t pay the premium for the Razer branding.

I have it running on an old Dell quadcore workstation with 16gb of memory, alongside around 30 other Docker services including a full Servarr stack, and haven’t noticed any issues with it.

that’s it, the UK government needs to write more strongly worded letters to let those sites know how unacceptable it is for them not to think of the children!
