I’m glad you have that particular skill, but it absolutely has very little to do with irate customers. That’s more like what makes it a shitty day at the job vs having a shitty job.
Also idk how much variety of people you have had to meet in your career but I venture to guess they are all generally the same socioeconomic backgrounds, education, etc. When you work with the public it is different, the pool is larger and more random, you may learn new ways people can be fucking weird.
Controversial but when it actually IS essentially just “for spending money” part time work, is retail that bad? You have the psychological benefits of seeing new people, having consistent relationships, helping others, physical activity, a routine, and anything else that working may bring to your social calendar. Oh and waaaay less responsibility and pressure.
Cause it is essentially working for mental health reasons instead of financial. It is a lot easier to walk away then as soon as mental health is compromised!

I haven’t been able to even* load* Facebook or X because of some privacy/security setting I must have enabled. Before that fb wouldn’t let me see anything without an account and X was pulling really similar stunts, requiring an account for full access, although usually you could read the tweet and a few replies maybe.
It is absolutely bullshit for ALL the information to be on a social media post. I’ve definitely gotten them before with age and suspect/vehicle or something, and Twitter would have photos and further details like last seen location and clothes.
THIS IS NOT THE ONION?!
Those camels were weird but so good!! Never met anyone outside my little group who knew of them
They do not send in SWAT for wellness checks
In a Nov. 18 letter filed in federal court, attorneys for The New York Times named Balaji as someone who had “unique and relevant documents” that would support their case against OpenAI. He was among at least 12 people — many of them past or present OpenAI employees — the newspaper had named in court filings as having material helpful to their case, ahead of depositions.
Unless stuff starts happening to those people, or there is some detail I missed in the article, it is much more plausible that this was suicide than some corporate hit, let alone one carried out using police violence? Is that what you were implying?
No offense but this is incredibly short sighted and you’re assuming the average person seeks out new information. We really don’t and are more exposed to it in our daily lives of consumption. In 5, 10, 15 years it will increasingly become a problem being cut off from the outside world. Even now many believe the propaganda
I’m still reading but ffs- I click ONE x.con source and my in app browser makes me hit back 5 times just to get to lemmy again nothing else pulls that shit but maybe daily news level
I argue this is the one time I wouldn’t call it Twitter.
This is a problem unique to Elon’s social media’s dumpster, X. He’s actively hindering free speech and free press
Edit: sorry. I read more comments I see I’m wrong and this was an ongoing thing. Here’s my foot in mouth comment for prosperity I guess
A lot of it is body chemistry as well. For example sweat caused from stress smells worse than regular sweat. And then everyone’s own chemistry is different on how their odor smells and how pungent how quickly.
I vote for that apawcolypse
Ime when it comes to the environment all tax payers really care about is saving their money. In taxes.
Nevermind the savings if we had renewable energy as the norm vs the 2.75 is saved you annual in taxes to keep denying progress to get us there.
Did I miss some detail? I get the impressions from the comments this is some really poor choice for user experience as people will often pause to check something
But in my experience pause ads are nothing new at all and they start after the device has been idle. What did I miss that makes this different?
In my opinion : The money is MUCH more lucrative now because of data mining. That’s it. That’s the real product being sold and because it isn’t encouraging innovation for innovation’s sake, but for a bottom line or goal that almost certainly depends on features that gather ad much data as possible to sell… etc etc
Oh my gosh do you remember the name of a show they had in roughly 05-10i era that was just featuring prototypes for future technology?
I remember it featuring robotic exoskeleton, something that I’m pretty sure was Kevlar or at least functions very similarly, a sidewalk that can generate power from people walking on it. I even think it featured an “invisibility cloak” so basically a mix of practicality and stages of development. It was fun. I feel like there were a lot of shows about futuristic stuff then on those channels (discovery package basically if u know u know) right before reality suffocated it. And I can’t find anything about them and they aren’t ever mentioned.
Please reply to my post with any random emoji if you had tangible relief and improved relationships when trump was kicked off Twitter.
I noticed an immediate and drastic difference in my work environment, for example. I could elaborate but would ramble
If methadone was also educational 🌈⭐
