  • Universal Blue is my go-to. Their OSs feel like the future. They are so easy to use and low maintenance. The upgrades happen in the background and apply automatically when you restart your computer.

There are three flavors: Bazzite for gaming Bluefin and Aurora for basic workstations and developers

I went with Aurora for myself because I like the developer focused stuff. But I also do a lot of gaming. Even though it’s not gaming focused, it’s still great for gaming.

My wife uses it on her laptop, too. She doesn’t give a shit what her OS is as long as it works and she can use the browser.

  • I have a pretty ironclad stomach, but not as strong as yours. I’ve been with my wife for 13 years and she’s witnessed the horror that is me puking twice. And the first time came 4 years ago. My friends say it sounds like I’m “calling the dinosaurs” and it is very traumatic for me.

Edit: I forgot my point. I’m jealous.

  • I thought I replied to this earlier, but it seems like it didn’t take.

Pushover seems nice, but doesn’t seem to be self-hostable. It looks like there is a replacement service in the works called Overpush.

All I can say is that I don’t own any Apple products and never even looked at that section of their documentation. The Android and web clients work flawlessly, except that the Android client doesn’t support markdown.
