Ah yeah, I should have specified I was looking at the laptop side of things more as the person I originally replied to mentioned that power usage is more important there (which is understandable). There appears to be only a handful of laptop chips that I can recognize in that first link and all of them amd but I don’t know the naming scheme of modern intel laptop parts anymore.
I would have to ask for a source on that. I can’t really find anything comparing many cpus.
However this video compares top end models on otherwise pretty much identical laptops and amd definitely wins in YouTube playback on battery https://youtu.be/X_I8kPlHJ3M
But if you’ve got anything to better compare I’m all ears
I don’t think Intel is more efficient if their desktops and this one link is anything to go by
https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/cpu_benchmark-cpu_performance_per_watt
But I’m not up to date on laptop stuff at all so might be wrong
The 14900k is an absolute oven
What do you mean with that? Depending on the recency of your device they can be quite accurate. I use a Garmin though because they last longer on battery and are a bit more oriented towards sports and health. Some studies I found back then suggested Garmin is not that far off lab testing on most metrics. Yes even the guestimated ones like vo2max.
Heard about this too I believe this was mostly an issue in India because of their slightly different models?
Because the small thief in this example is not making money from the theft
Of you didn’t watch the full video, which is fair enough, it’s a point Linus makes which the comment refers to. So Linus is either newborn or braindead? I mean ok maybe. 🗿
I’m downvoted for pointing out what Linus said in the video, why exactly?
Pbs spacetime is absolutely fantastic if you truly want to dive into the physics hole without too much of the math
Really depends a lot on the groupchat. I was apprehensive but it’s quiet there and overall the things that get sent there are either in office hours (e.g. “internet might be out intermittently we are working on a fix”) to links to pay for something someone paid for outside of work like food or drinks.
I don’t mind it that way, maybe once a week a couple messages
Yet the conservatives cant stop calling anyone pro lgbt+ a pedo
Perhaps I’m being pedantic, but even in your quoted definition we don’t know that it’s spyware. Because 1) we don’t know if it takes full control 2) it’s there with our knowledge. I still can’t agree to your conclusion in your first comment that it is. It might be, but I’d phrase that differently.
blablabla more blabbering around the point below: just pure speculation of what it could possibly be worst case scenario.
Spyware by definition is “Any malicious software"
Cool, but since you have no idea whether or not its malicious calling it spyware is false.
So you called it spyware but now you say you dont know what it is doing. So which one is it?
I think in English that’d be called being nationalized
That is extremely unlucky but also sucks that the us won’t enforce bigger warranty windows for products meant to last much longer than a year.
I used my 6t for 4 years but it started bootlooping and I needed it for 2fa codes every login on some applications for work. I bought a 10t after a couple of days. Funny enough now the 6t appears stable again, oh well it’s the household backup if any others spontaneously die
That would be a much older thing, planned obsolescence
Also also the voice codec is (or at least was) a noticable improvement over anything that was available for free.
