20 years smoking 10 to 15 cigarettes a day, switched to vaping for 4 years, then quit completely as I was fed up with the logistics of vaping.

My last cigarette was 9 years ago and I don’t miss it at all. I consider vaping was the biggest reason I quit, seconded with the avoidance of social situations where smoking is common.

Same for Reddit, still very much alive apparently.

I kinda disagree. Not just for the technical solution that is supposed to enable a fairly good level of privacy but also because I tend to trust ECB employees and ways of working as I’ve done a few projects with them.

I think some Fediverse mods are more extreme and biased than their equivalent on Reddit.

For example, criticizing the anti-men stance (as in: nothing to do with feminism) promoted by jlai.lu admins for example got me my ban. My first ever ban despite being very active on Reddit for 10 years prior to migrating to Lemmy.

Smaller communities do feel like an echo chamber as a consequence.

That’s my issue with Samsung devices: unofficial ROMs are rare. For example on my Galaxy S21 FE, I can’t run LineageOS.

Probably true, but I must mention you also have great things in the Android / Samsung ecosystem. For example, Samsung Dex is impressive and I do use it.

I am on Samsung devices right now (phone & tablet) but I’m not 100% convinced and I do not advocate for this brand.

I’m just waiting for a more mature Fairphone & /e/os platform.
