We were having issues with our security system at my work one week, which resulted in the alarm going off a lot. For the next several days we had magpies that were mimicking the alarm’s tone and rhythm almost perfectly.

Ok, I didn’t have any language settings set apparently. I just fixed that, and maybe it’ll start working now? Thanks for your response!

Ok, thank you! I checked and slrpnk is at least federated with the peertube instances. I’ll ask about any other potential issues here on my server.

I added 2 peertube channels to my subscriptions not long after I joined lemmy. So far, they have failed to populate into my feed… I can see the channels in my subscriptions, but when I go to them via lemmy there’s only a couple videos showing and they’re from the timeframe that I added them. However, going to the channel directly, outside of lemmy, I can see that they’ve posted many videos recently.

Is there something I’m missing?

I’m in the music scene for my region, and I pay my share to the artists I enjoy, listen to, go and see live.

But as far as general listening, yea I need a better - more free - way of consuming music. I just don’t know if there exists a service that lets you listen on demand, recommends similar music, and lets you build playlists/queues on demand.

Really tho, it’s because it’s the last sub I can’t seem to break away from. I’d prefer to use things that aren’t so corporate.

Spotify is the last subscription service I still have.

Sailing the high seas for tv/movies is easy for me since I don’t really watch that much anyways. Music tho, is huge for me. And as much as I hate algorithms, Spotify’s has turned me on to a ton of really good new music.

So, I guess I’m asking here, what’s the easiest/most convenient way for an avid music lover to break away from Spotify?
