Hard agree. Its a non negotiable part of the job. I dont know that it would work to say absense of footage is evidence of wrongdoing, but its definitely enough to fire someone. Accountability would keep cops in line. Currently there is VERY little real systematic accountability for cops, in any situation.

Well, the US Supreme court did explicitely say cops have no expectation of anonymity while doing their job. This is completely legal. Its premised on the idea that cops arent there to be abusive but to uphold the law, which is not always actually true. The root of the problem is cops behavior themselves rather than the recording or identifying of them. Up until very recently cops at least had their names visible and were required to show ID upon request.

We badly need to evolve our idea of democracy to allow for it to work when the rich and corrupt self interests try to control it. the US governmental system isnt safe against those influences so it seems doomed to fail in its current form.
We cant just wait for benevolent strongmen like FDR (Roosevelt) to come along periodically and right the ship, followed by many decades of compounding corrupution. We were lucky to get Roosevelt and have the legacy of his influence last as long as we have. I’d guess that whats left of the new deal will be badly mauled or done away with by the end of trumps term, assuming we are even still a country with 50 states, which isnt looking promising. So its time to start thinking now about whats next.

bullets add up pretty quick too, depending on your budget. Novice shooters tend to shoot for the head (human target) and hit the target 60% of the time at 3 feet for a stationary target, 24% at nine feet. Its less for moving targets.
Missing a target thats literally 3 feet from you sounds crazy but once you try it you will see how frustrating it can be to hold a pistol right and line it up right to the target. I’ve walked up to stationary grouse on roadways (they come in the morning to eat rocks to aid digestion) and blasted all around them missing each time from 5 feet away. Luckily they are incredibly stupid and just stand there, or look at the spot where the bullet hit on the ground, confused.
