Some guy was going to have sex with a fried chicken sandwhich and was expecting a fight about it from atheists.
I dont get the joke… Eat it, have sex with it, take it apart and rub it on your face. None of that intersects with my world at all. As long as you dont rub it on children I’d say we’re good.
If we were the principled society we pretend to others that we are, we would prefer 100 ceos to 1 Sandy Hook. CEO’s would be all for it as well.
But capitalism doesnt breed a lot of impulses to sacrifice for the greater good. “eff those peasants” is practically explicitely baked into it.
4 is avoided in Chinese and Japanese. Although contextually its not too far off the mark in this case.
in JP, 4 sounds like ‘shi’, meaning death. 43 sounds like the word for ‘stillbirth’. (‘shi’ also means particle, or also emoticon) In China, 4 = ‘death’, 14 = ‘must die’, 24 = ‘easy to die’
marketing hirelings will sabotage the narrative with BS to make it go away.
Capitalism only encourages innovation when its profitable. Its a bit of a flaw.

police budgets are stretched thin.

I hope AI is the new metaverse. I’ll have a good chuckle when it all implodes.
And every time you remember it you rewrite it back into your brain. It changes the context of that memory ever so slightly.
Super interesting. Your dreams are photocopies of photocopies. Seperate but related topic: A few years ago doctors made a new drug that prevents memories from being recorded at all. Then they asked truama/PTSD victims to remember the details of what happened to them. They pulled the memories out, were unable to reimprint them, and were permanently cured of their trauma and PTSD. It doesnt always work, but pretty neat huh? If you have ever had PTSD you know how miraculous it is to be freed of something like that.
