watching the decline is hard. I thought my dad would live forever. He’s been gone just over a year. My mom probably won’t be around much longer either. Let them tell you as many boring stories as they can.

I tried brewing my own once. It tasted like sweet frothy dirt. lol. I could give it another go I suppose. I did join some local facebook free groups. So that’s a start. I would like to also distance myself from facebook but there’s literally nothing else that people use around here.
same here. I cancelled all subscriptions too. The billionaires have enough money. Not giving them any more of mine. At this point, I only buy food and beer. I’m learning to sew so I can keep my clothes longer too. they will stop making garbage when people stop buying it.
I had a short convo with a check out girl at Staples the day before election day. She saw my “I voted” sticker on my phone and started talking about how she was voting trump after work today because “we can’t give the white house to Biden again” She looked confused when I told her Biden wasn’t even running. The DNC fucked us. They waited too long to replace him and some people didn’t even know Harris was an option. They tried to prop up a corpse and then changed at the last minute. I voted for Harris but I knew she didn’t stand a chance.
fucking scab. and I liked perplexity too. won’t be using it again.
Network admin for a non-profit. Lots of monitoring, patching, etc. We’re a small dept so I do everything from security to tech support. Also, solitaire.
buttered cornbread cooked in a cast iron skillet. also, thicc gals in blue jean cut-offs. and also beer and fried chicken.
Sceptre still sells dumb TVs’. If you are in the US, Walmart sells them. I have one and it’s pretty good. No frills.
glove lights. they are great for working in dark places where you can’t hold a flashlight.
low/no carb diet. Exercise daily. Get lots of sleep. I’m 47 and feel better now than I did in my 20’s when I ate the standard american diet. Meditation and yoga to get rid of daily stress.
maybe you don’t but I do. I was a vegan and I was unhealthy and sick. Switched to mostly ketovore and I’m better in my 40s than I was in my 20s. I was able to stop every medication that I had been taking for 10+ years.
I’m a sugar addict. I went keto 2 years ago and lost 150lbs. I still need to lose around 30. 90% of our “food” isn’t real food. You need meat and veggies. Nothing else. It’s hard to stop though. I still gotta have a doughnut at least once a month.
I use Jellyfin and watch DVD rips. I can get box sets cheap at goodwill. Haven’t paid for TV in 15+ years. Sometimes I’ll watch streaming on FreeTube.
