My partner recently had a financial and vehicle emergency and to help out I moved in with her. I now drive her around and help pay for her rent. I was supposed to stay for a week and now it’s been about two months.
I moved out of my parents to do this and because I cannot afford it, I do not pay part of their rent now. They can afford to get by, but my dad’s work van recently broke down and he works out of that truck so it has affected his income and he now has to replace the van which is very expensive.
They are now struggling financially and I feel like I could help if I move back in with them to help pay for rent. They are now in the same situation my partner was in two months ago, but I have not left to help them and it eats me up inside every morning when I wake up.
I noticed that a lot of my friends who are really online think that everyone will always agree with them.
My theory is that this happens because they are used to their algorithm only showing them content/comments of things they agree with and since that makes the bulk of interactions with other people, they think everyone is like that.
Also dehumanizing people who they aren’t politically aligned with. I think that people who “touch grass” more often, deal with people all over the political spectrum so they can separate the human side from the politics side.
These are just my theories btw I don’t have evidence aside from my anecdotes. A sample pool of like 10 people lol so clearly not enough
Because the USA took that title already.
I know a lot of people from central/south america that are mad about that and they make a comment whenever you say “american.” They prefer the term “estadounidense” which is just someone who is from the USA.
I don’t blame them because it is pretty self centered especially whenever there are two whole ass continents that term could apply to, but I don’t think get the anger around it lol.
What company can you see doing it right?
In my opinion, I think their goal was to control the platform. If you think about it, the amount of information that they can gather from users is wholly controlled by Google and Apple through their OS’.
Apple and Google have continuously decreased the amount of information Meta can gather through their apps, and I think with VR they made a huge bet that would be the next platform so they jumped on the ship to make sure that this time they would be controlling the platform and not another company.
I don’t think they want to make money through software, I think they want to make money through data collection. The amount of data they can gather from you just through the setup, is incredible. They can literally know your height and have cameras on at all times.
I think VR can be successful, but I don’t think Meta will do it. I don’t think they’re be the ones getting the ball rolling at least. If anything their marketing and the bad name they gave to VR set things back. I think they’re too early and have a pretty bad brand image for people to trust them. I don’t think the hardware or the software support is there for things to fully take off either
Also, wouldn’t their goal be to sell VR headsets? How would people buy their software without a headset? I think their goal was to sell headsets. Pretty sure they sold their budget headsets at a loss just to introduce people to the platform.
I think you’re giving them way too much credit lol
I mean I get what you’re saying, but a title is always capitalized, no?
Nice! I’ll probably get it after I finish my current game
