the mature response would be to leave the voting buttons alone and provide instead a measured response of the reasons for your disagreement.

this one act has led to a distrust in aid workers in that country and the flourishing of polio. countless innocent lives ruined, but i’m sure uncle sam considers those as adequate compensation against killing one man who had sequestered hinself away with his goats and his porn.

we should care less about how that one man was buried then and more about how the polio-ridden corpses of children are treated today.

burial and cremation, as practices, should be be dispensed with altogether.

i want my eventual corpse to be donated to a green burial.

it may be that you were being facetious, but numbers and formulae are usually the most potent weapons in the arsenal of people who want to bulldoze in their own agenda.

as a general rule, any post with figures should warrant greater scrutiny, not less; and definitely not none with a nudge to rank it higher. even if it is one in all frivolity as my comment above.

a stomach can stretch upto 4 litres in capacity when pushed (one source). that’s 4000cm³ (or 244 cubic inches).

to fill that capacity, the volume of a pizza needs to be 4000cm³ or 244 inch³.

take πr²h = 4000 for thin crust pizzas, if we assume the average height of pizza and toppings as 1cm, our equation simplifies to πr² = 4000; which gives the radius of the pizza as around 36 cms – or a diameter of 72 cms (or 28").

if we take a thicker pizza of an average crust thickness of 1", then our equation for square inches simplifies to πr² = 244. which gives us a radius of about 9" or a diameter of 18".

since most pizzas top out at 12"-14" diameter (thin and thick crust volume varying between 700cm³ to 2600cm³), if anything, we’re nowhere near achieving our full potential!

they are very different in my mind. perhaps because i first came across them in their respective contexts through reading.

even when speaking, to me, lose rhymes with booze and loose rhymes with goose.

im may have started as a conversational tool, but it’s pervaded every aspect of our lives now to such an extent that “whatsapp me” has become a generecised verb. in that process, as society, we’ve forgotten the benefits of email.

why people have moved from email to im is beyond me.

one gives up topical conversation threads with relevant aubject lines, easier search and retrieval, thread-specific groups and readers, more robust spam-filtration, the lack of necessity of a phone number, more flexible options for cross-platform access, downloadability of your messages, options to host your own server, and so on.

in return, you get perhaps a tad more convenience from an im – even that is debatable, though.

it’s high time we all returned to the friendly envelope instead of the intrusive chat bubble.

edit: another benefit: with email, you can still communicate with people who’ve chosen a different email platform. they don’t have to have the same domain as your email provider.

while you may be right, one would think that the problem lies in the overestimated peception of the abilities of llms leading to misplaced investor confidence – which in turn leads to a bubble ready to burst.
