  • Huh, I was only 11ish watching it, I think I thought the first one was scarier or had a darker tone, the pool scene was a bit scary for one, maybe it was the music? Also they seemed much more menacing in 1 but it could have been due to the slapstick comedy it was sandwiched with in part 2 that made it feel less frightening.

All that said, I ended up watching Nightmare on Elm Street too young so that may have skewed my interpretation of scary. Yes younger than Gremlins 2, but I also quite enjoyed Nightmare on Elm Street and watched them all (well not 2 as much), so maybe just my experience.

If you’re a Star Trek fan the Voyager doctor is there for some comedy, if you’re a Smallville fan Lyonel Luthor is there…has a decent cast for the movie it is. Oh and forgot Christopher Lee too heh.

Haven’t watched it in years still.

  • Yes I always think of that Simpsons line, this is the worse day so far. It doesn’t help any anxiety about the geopolitical situation even backdropped by an amusing sitcom. I do hope people learn better, but maybe we’ll see the way of nuking ourselves and wonder what happened while still being intolerant (as a whole, I know many individuals are cool but those are never in position of power it seems).

I limit my political stories these days after Trump’s first term I can’t handle the same input, not American but that doesn’t matter to the world’s outcome.

  • The speeder scenes rocked, the few times I got to play the game on that in an arcade it was definitely closer to actually riding at death defying speeds in a semi open forest area, and it wasn’t a quarter game either if I recall.

The score with the final lightsaber scene makes it great as well though in my books. Without the same music it wouldn’t have worked nearly as well…though that’s probably the same for a lot of the scenes. As great as the movie is I can still just listen to the music on its own, used to even on vinyl back in the day, Dad’s soundtrack and my fisher price record player lol.

  • From my experience with Dexedrine, it actually hides headaches more often than causes them, but I still get them now and then. The aches, you sure you’re moving around enough? It’s easy to get into a focus and then realize later in the day you were in a bad position or were tensing up more and didn’t get the movement your muscles needed. I do say this as a middle aged dude so experiences may vary but I can easily zone out programming for a few hours then wonder why something is sore.

  • Not everyone can take it, when I first tried meds for ADD Ritalin was the first one and gave me hives for the few days I was on it. At one point tried others without side effects but they weren’t as effective so just kept with Dexedrine.

Maybe the hives would have gone away but not exactly work friendly to be productive which was the reason for the meds in the first place.

  • Spoilers season 5 ep 1 Doctor Who (new series to be specific)just in case it’s needed, couldn’t figure out the spoiler formatting, yeah old but I wouldn’t want to deprive anyone watching first time

First Matt Smith episode he basically scares off the aliens by saying ‘you can figure out who I am, do you want to continue this?’ … And for some reason they run from the dude who never wants to touch a gun heh. To be fair he always tries talking until they leave him without peaceful options, which makes him an awesome hero.

  • You think there can only be one god? That sounds limiting. I don’t believe in any, but say does Buddhism really contradict most of Christianity real values? Like be good to people (help the less fortunate) try to let things go to not burden your well being (praying for forgiveness), respect others (do unto others). Besides having to actually believe in a god what’s the difference between the two? Though the Buddhist view I’m thinking of doesn’t require a god either but both seem to have teachings of compassion and love for your fellow person (some restrictions apply when dealing with intolerant types). I’m not saying you shouldn’t have faith but don’t say one has to be wrong.
