1·2 days agoAnd this could “explain” dreams too !
Well, habits work in misterious ways, sometimes you’ll desperately be trying to get one into your life and fail whatever you try, and sometimes you get savagely jumped by one and can’t get rid of it

3·3 days agoYeah, when i wrote
Say, let’s admit consciousness is the result of a physical process.
It was more of like in math with unprovable statements, you can say let’s assyme it’s true because it leads to all these interesting consequences. All the while being very much aware that it all requires for this perticular to be true

13·3 days agoThanks for coming to my ted talk, i will be coming back tommorow with a conclusion to my thesis
You said you didn’t want to carry around a water bottle, what about a cup/mug, there’s surely a waterfountain at your workplace and saving 3$ a day is like ≈90$ a month (though if you spend a thou a month on food, 90 might not be significant ;) )
Good for you ! But the fact that buying a bag of apples is a “frivolous”(that’s not the word but you get what i mean) thing is simply outrageous -_-
Yeah, mb it was suposed to mean super but aparently the original info was bullshit and the it’s a me is official

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•There are people out there who could utterly smash world records but no-one will never know as they haven't taken up that sport.
1·4 days agoAnd we can calculate that bumblebees can’t fly and cangaroos can’t jump

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's one lifestyle or hobby you wish you got in to but never did?
1·4 days agoYou probably have, but it doesn’t hurt to siggest it, have you tried jotting down your ideas in another format ? On a white board (real/digital) in a mindmap, in separate notes (looking at you obsidian) as sketchy panels etc.
It’s not guaranteed to come out exactly how you expected it to, but it should get you pas that block and give you ideas of how to improve your workflow ;)

4·3 days agoI’ve been playing piano for 9 years now, still can barely read sheet music. I’m not saying it’s easier that way, matter of fact, i wish i could read it better.
But if sheet music is all that is keeping you from becoming a musician, fuck that and get playing

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people who try to convince others to switch to metric focus so much on the conversions?
1·5 days agoTo me, that’s the biggest point, in metric, the units are made to fit together quite nicely

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL putting solar panels on land currently used for biofuels would produce enough electricity for all cars and trucks to go electricEnglish
5·9 days agoI second this, if you design your solar panels well, not only do you get to outpu a lot of electricity, yiu actually increase your crop/cattle etc yield

Well that was a most interesting read, but i’m not sure it is exactly the same as what i’m describing ;)
