Yep, I just bought one as my 2nd printer. Super pleased with it. Definitely among the best $200 I’ve ever spent.

You chose an excellent printer to start with.
I voluntarily subject myself to his rants on youtube. That server is very close to what I’m looking for. Something that can do 10 gbps would be ideal. Just today I came across this. Seems pretty good but going to keep looking.
They seem nice but the ones that can do SFP+ start at around $600
First, thanks everyone for all the info, glad I posted. It’s a lot to go through.
OpenWRT is the most frequently recommended thing here, and my router is not supported. I somewhat recently purchased my router (Asus AX6600) when I switched to fiber due to its high bandwidth and I’d prefer to not replace it. I’ll look around and see what options I have for putting a separate device upstream of my current hardware and if that doesn’t work out then maybe I’ll replace my current router.
I see that you can install openwrt on a switch. Would it make sense to put a switch with openwrt upstream of my current router/AP?
Edit: dang there’s only 1 switch supported by openwrt that has 10 gbps ports (ZyXEL XGS1250-12)
He explains things pretty well, I definitely want to understand what I’m doing. I just prefer to have the knowledge consolidated into a single guide instead of searching for all the different components and maybe some things don’t end up working as expected.
Trying to create a router yourself is complicated.
Presumably not when Louis walks you through every step of it. That’s a big part of my motivation for just going through his guide.
They’re definitely on my radar whenever I get around to setting up a NAS
I’ve been listening to this Spotify playlist called Christmas Rave Music 2024
Pretty sure all of those pics are different people. I guess we’ll never find them, might as well give up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They’re ok I guess, not much worse than the analog ones, except for the ones that are way too bright. That should be illegal.
Sometimes I’ll go into a restaurant or a fast food place and they have TVs rotated 90° with the menu shown on them and they look like they’re all turned off until I tilt my head.
Tesla introduced the fad of using an app for charging
I understand why someone could be bothered by that. I’ve only ever used the Tesla and Chargepoint apps. I appreciate not having to take extra steps to pay and it all happens automatically, though I did have to set up separate accounts for each. I don’t have any complaints about charging so far.
Tesla introduced big screen few buttons
Yeah I don’t like that either. Fortunately there’s been some push back on that lately. Plenty of physical buttons in the Kia & Hyundai EVs as far as I know. I hope that continues.
Tesla continues to make cars with shit reliability
Aside from the cybertruck I don’t believe that’s true. I know 3 people who’ve had Teslas (model 3 or S) for 5 or more years and they all say that it’s the most reliable and lowest maintenance car that they’ve had. Again I agree with you on changing the physical buttons onto a touch screen buttons.
Tesla has done and is (generally) doing some great stuff. I think many of the poor decisions they’ve made as a company were driven by Elon. If he could just fuck off to Mars or drop dead or something and free up Tesla from the burden of his ketamine-fueled decisions that would be awesome.
I mean, I hate the guy but Tesla prices have dropped significantly over time and Tesla does a ton of battery R&D, which is good. And Tesla has done more for the EV charging infrastructure in the US than anyone else has. Even so, going forward I will never buy a Tesla, I’m hoping my next car will be an Aptera. More and more non-Tesla EVs are coming with the NACS port and can use the Tesla chargers, which is great. Non-Tesla chargers are few and far between. And generally pretty slow. But fuck Elon regardless.
Don’t forget all the people who voted for Biden in 2020 and didn’t fucking vote in 2024
Wow is that firewire? Haven’t seen that in a while
The AMS is amazing. I just bought my 3rd and 4th when they had their black friday sale. Multicolor prints look soooo good and it’s very reliable, unlike the MMU2 I had on my Prusa. Pretty soon I’m going to attempt to print some wheels (maybe ABS or PLA-CF) with some squishy TPU tires.
