Maybe they could also fix the “suggested accounts” feature so that the top recommendation for me isn’t an account that posted once 2 years ago.

Yes. It enforces a bubble by its very nature. There is no main feed, by default you see people you follow and posts they interact with. I don’t have a problem with that. I wouldn’t go into a pub with racists, and xenophobes, so I shouldn’t have to do it online.
Anyway, first thing I did was sign up for a couple of blocks lists, and what saw was awful people.
Also, if you look a the moderation settings, there is a lot of objectional content that is or can be hidden basic of topic flags. This is content that on any sane networks should be banned and the users suspended. But of Bluesky its just hidden from view.
It’s basically a microcosm of the Internet. It’s not the Good Place for sure, and anyone who thinks that is deluded.
Denmark is a bit different though. They’ve cracked down on all flavours except menthol and tobacco, and they’ve taxed it similar to cigarettes. The UK is only banning disposable vapes.
Stupid sexy transistors
Thanks! Yeah, I honestly don’t hold it against anyone for not understanding or appreciating ADHD. I don’t understand it myself most of the time. And before a psychiatrist told me I had it, I didn’t realize how it totally and completely ruled some parts of my life.
Some of the batteries in that bucket must be 10+ years old. The bucket has even moved house with me. Definitely a fire hazard. I go and get groceries every other day, but in 10 years I’ve never remembered to take them. And even when I do remember, I go “I’ll do it next time”!
Let my ADHD ass introduce you to my bucket of used batteries, and my giant bag of “soft plastics”, both of which require a trip to the store (5 minute walk away) to recycle.
Yeah. 11th gen Framework 13, so one of the first ones. Since I got it I had to use Windows exclusively because of some client work, and battery life was pitiful. 2-3 hours perhaps? Once that project finished I swapped out the SSD and put on Ubuntu with KDE. I was expecting the batter life to be worse, but it is demonstrably better. I now get more like 6 hours, albeit with my power plan on efficiency.
Switching from Windows to Linux on my Framework laptop makes my battery last 2-3 times as long. They should just have a switch to Linux recommendation to reduce your carbon footprint.
“These counterfeit phones, Cohen said, were either out of warranty or contained counterfeit parts, but Apple “wrongly” believed that they were real phones under real warranties”
So not counterfeit. Just real iPhones that were out of warranty or has been repaired by a third party.
I just went cold turkey because I can’t/won’t watch content with ads, and already felt the cost of our streaming services was too much for what we get out of it.
What I’ve found myself doing is if I do buy from Amazon and it’s below the free shipping amount, I try and buy from a marketplace seller who ships themselves for free. Often this ends up matching the Prime price, but it’s buried further down the result because it doesn’t have Prime shipping. Or I buy the same product via eBay, which is mostly cheaper. But main thing is, I’ve found I just buy less. Like A LOT less. As a family we’d often get 3 or 4 Amazon deliveries a week. That’s not been replaced with orders from other retailers. It’s almost as if having Prime encourages you to buy stuff you maybe don’t need!
We are halfway through it!
I unsubscribed in January and still have too much stuff to watch. Although that is helped by being in the UK and having iPlayer I guess. I’ve also spent way less on impulse buying crap because of the free shipping. Absolutely do not miss Prime.
This data is not beautiful.
It’s a great portrayal, but the later episodes when he was quite ill are hard to watch. He is still fantastic, but clearly struggling with his illness and the side effects of medication. Of course, by all accounts he smoked ferociously, but still.
This data is not beautiful. It’s is confusing. Data is confusing.
This is exactly what I do too!
Personally, I don’t expose the port externally, so I’m not sharing photos via Immich right now. I host locally and it is on a proper domain with a lets encrypt certificate, and I use Gandi Live DNS to update the dynamic IP, but my DDWRT router is set up to only allow access from internal IP addresses and my current WAN IP. It does work externally, but like you I am bit vary of it. That doesn’t just apply to immich. I do the same with my Next Cloud.
Immich is great. I very much recommend it as a replacement for Google photos.
And with worse safety, it would appear.
A few weeks ago I hid my backup drive behind a picture frame. “This is a great hiding place”, I thought. Took me a week to find it.
