Data sauce?
Every app is open source if you can read assembly.

Using tor with anything google is a PITA at best.
If you have a generic enough useragent string and using standard ipv4 deployment (shared by many homes and/or rotating, usual isp)/mobile internet/workspace internet it is pretty hard to fingerprint.
I’ve not seen google fingerprinting with canvas or other weird techniques (though these can be defeated in even standard firefox) yet.
Like what? I mean you don’t save cookies/local storage either, or use private browsing always.
At most google see your search terms, results you click and your ip address. Unless you’re using ipv6 without rotation or with unique prefix there is no identifying information.
Google without logging in with ublock is best. No privacy implication, no ads, no ai response.
I don’t know. But one potential advantage of bsky over mastodon is the data and real account migration capability between instances.
Also bsky is run by a company and overall infra is better than most community instances of mastodon, so people will see better performance and more ad/pr visibility of the platform.
Wouldn’t that disrupt the usage of a phone as a server?
It’s opening full for me. Probably geo paywalled…
Goes away with js disabled. Rest of page works fine.
This can be a soft limit where Youtube limits the connection rate so that artificially inflating view count becomes more costly. There are inexpensive ‘services’ especially in India or Pakistan where you can buy human (like a whole internet cafe) view times to your scam video to make it float in suggestions and to promote a channel.
I don’t work for youtube so it is just a guess.
newpipe
The text. And probably images too (but the only mistake being the wrong port depiction (all c) says more human).
ai generated lol
Maybe but there are tons of other factors too and honestly we don’t know yet. But the astrologers neither… So no, no connection with astrology which is just a guesswork.
the bad guys use bots or services and are done. regular users have to endure while no security is added
put in other words, common users can’t easily become ‘bad guy’ ie cost of attack is higher hence lower number of script kiddies and automated attacks. You want to reduce number. These protections are nothing for bitnet owners or other high profile bad actors.
ps: recaptcha (or captcha in general) isn’t a security feature. At most it can be a safety feature.
stopping automated requests
yeah my bad. I meant too many automated requests. Both humans and bot generate spams and the issue is high influx of it. Legitimate users also use bots and by no means it’s harmful. That way you do not encounter captcha everytime you visit any google page, nor a couple of scraping scripts gets a problem. Recaptcha (or hcaptcha, say) triggers when there is high volume of request coming from same ip. Instead of blocking everyone out to protect their servers, they might allow slower requests so legitimate users face mininimal hindrance.
Most google services nowadays require accounts with stronger (like cell phone) verification so automated spam isn’t a big deal.
And what will you do if a person in a CGNAT is DoSing/scraping your site while you want others to access? IP based limiting isn’t very useful, both ways.
hCaptcha, Microsoft CAPTCHA all do the same. Can you give example of some that can’t easily be overcome just by better compute hardware?
Wait yt premium has different rates in different countries? Anyway hosting a free to use service like youtube cost a ton in storage and bandwidth, contrary to nebula. I would rather support it as it doesn’t do DRM and other too much user hostile stuffs (I’m using free software clients for long time, no issue. I’ll continue after premium too as official client isn’t that good). But ofc first I would like to know actual budget and ad money cash flow to see if it needs help really or just a marketing tactic to pump up revenue in typical corporate fashion.
Anybody has such income-expense data source for youtube?
