Yeah, it was the stand-alone app, not the browser extension. When it’s on, everything goes through it.
Wise man say- forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza. 🍕

Honestly, I’ve come to seriously dislike Proton. Yeah, it’s cool they don’t log any data, but they’re starting the ai shit and their fucking UPGRADE NOW shit everywhere just because I use the free email (I have literally zero use for any of the paid features). It’s commercializing and enshittifying rapidly.
I contacted Proton’s support and everything was configured correctly. My ISP is Verizon (I don’t have a choice) and they’re the kind of fucks that would do deep packet sniffing, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why.
Thanks for the link. I’ll give it a look.
I used a VPN (Proton) and it didn’t do shit. I am not using containers because I’m not even sure what that is, what it does, or how it works, and I’ve never heard of gluetun. I need instructions. Not a fucking manual to try to sort through and figure out. Not vague names of things I may or may not be able to find through a search engine Instructions. A tutorial. Something. Shit’s gotten way too convoluted since I last torrented over almost 20 years ago.
Man, I gave up on torrenting. I can’t figure out how to keep my ISP from seeing it and every time I try, I get a threatening email. They don’t give a shit about Soulseek, apparently, so at least I have my music.
I mean, it’s all just electrical signals. They could simplify the data for such a transfer. The volume and mic do have an extra wire or two in them, but those are still made no bigger than those without, and the jack just has an extra ring or two on it for the connection. Most everybody is oblivious to the presence of those rings. So, I would say it’s totally possible, but is it worth it money-and-effort-wise?
If you going to complain about that, never listen to a CD or any other digital format. Let me guess, only vinyl is pure?
An aux jack can’t do that.
Really? Because there are aux jacks that allow for voice and volume control. Seems to me like they could make one for “real data”.
My phone plays flac. What’s poor quality about that?
Sound great? Either you’ve never had a pair of cans on, or you might want to consider getting your hearing checked. The membranes in airpods are too small to recreate full frequency spectrum. Yeah, they’re more clear than the earbuds of yore, but they can’t hold a candle to my $30 Gemini DJ headphones. No, they don’t have any noise canceling, but I like to hear the car that’s about to run me over when I’m out and about, and if you turn em up a little you won’t hear anything else anyway. Never have to charge, and pure, clean sound including REAL bass and not some distorted “bass boost”.
Grandpa was right about his Buick.
Samsung can eat my dirty asshole.
You got $30? Some of us are so poor that even $30 has to be planned and budgeted for. And most places want all $30 for the year up front and won’t split it up into monthly payments. Not everyone can just plop down $30 at a moment’s notice.
Congratulations? People pirate for a variety of reasons. No one reason is superior to the other. You gonna tell us you’re vegan and use arch, too?
Yeah this post seems kinda sus considering how many times they’ve avoided saying what game it is. And not wanting to use Steam at all? Steam is the one corp you can still have some trust in. I see a post like this and it reeks of them doing something most likely illegal in a bad way, or they are a bad actor trying to fuck with our shit again. Either that or they’re a weeb that’s too embarrassed to name the furry porn game they’re looking for.
My laptop is pretty dang portable. It may not fit in a pocket or what have you, but I carry a backpack anyway. And does windows provide emulators? I just pulled up a huge list, right on Discover Software Center and there are at least a couple different emulators for every major (and even some minor) console, handheld, arcade, and even a DOS emulator for DOS games. Hell, I even have Space Cadet Pinball on this thing. Yeah I’ve pirated on windows, and it’s not as easy, unless you’re talking about music production software, but that’s a whole other beast. Don’t get me wrong, Steam Deck is awesome and I would love to get one, but $650 is a hefty chunk of change for a lot of people, and considering I’m trying to save up for a Framework, I’m not interested in spending that kind of money right now.
Fuck the MPAA
I didn’t even buy a Steam Deck, I just switched to Linux, which is essentially what you did, just expensively.
Didn’t the latest big update give us cross-save or am I confusing this with another game that recently got it?
