I’ve read the English books. The Netflix series was kinda faithful to the books but it’s only season 1 so far. It’s not finished yet. There’s a Chinese tv series as well which is a lot harder to find but I’ve watched a bit of it and it seems much more like a direct adaptation of the books.

In the three body problem books one of the main plot points is a very similar scenario (although not identical). No spoilers but it might be worth a read / watch.

Probably things like TVs and set top boxes.

I’m counting on it.

I mean you can say the same for spinning magnetic platters. “The more bits you’re trying to squeeze into a fixed size HDD the less robust it is.”

I’m not saying these guys can do it, but dismissing higher densities of storage out of hand seems a bit glib considering the last 60 years of progress and innovation.

That’s ridiculous. People have been buying light bulbs based on Watts for around a century and understand that higher W means brighter and more power.

We went to Japan last year and they have a fast food chain called MOS burger. The food looked exactly like the menu pictures… It was amazing! Plump and delicious.

I read this years ago and it has always worked for me: sometimes your phone goes into a state where mobile data or even calls stop working (on android at least). Not often … but it happens. I used to restart the phone, but then someone mentioned that turning airplane made on for a few seconds and then turning it off again restarts the whole mobile comms stack / services. And I can confirm that 99% of the time it fixes any 4G or 5G connectivity issues without needing a restart.

Yeah my Pixel does the same. In airplane mode I don’t even have to turn Bluetooth on… It just keeps on working with my headphones.
