  • Censoring the far-right doesn’t make it go away. It just pushes it underground where it becomes even more radical outside of the moderating influence of the mainstream.

I beg to differ. The situation was MUCH better in this regard in Western Europe 15-20 years ago when being openly far-right would get you socially ostracized for the most part, and media didn’t routinely bring far-right mouthpieces on national TV.

That root cause is the total loss of faith institutions coupled with economic insecurity felt by the working class

I do agree with that though, that’s why I’m a commie who wants economic security for everyone (i.e. guaranteed employment and housing) and strong and trustworthy institutions (such as powerful, free and public healthcare and education and pensions, and the end of austerity)

  • America as we know it, may be over

Stop. I can only get so hard

The war in Ukraine is about to end

Damn, if only we had listened to the people calling for a negotiated peace since the first moment instead of calling them Putin bots…

    NATO might disband

As a western European, I fucking wish, but you’re too hopeful for that. NATO is exclusively a force for evil, and the only interventions that it’s carried out are the bombing of Yugoslavia and the bombing of Libya, the latter resulting in a decade of civil wars that destroyed the formerly most prosperous country in Africa. Extraofficially (not technically NATO), also the invasion of Iraq. How is literally any of that good.

    100 years of authoritarianism

The US has never been anything different from that. It’s based on the genocide of natives, on slavery of imported Africans, and the decisions made at the government are consistently against the will and the interests of the majority.

    Down with the US empire

  • I really don’t know why people are downvoting you. The internet is full of journalistic coverage of new developments in the field of photovoltaic and electric batteries, and journalistic coverage of science is generally… poor. They overstate the importance of everything because they wanna make clickbait, and the result is that it feels like there’s a nonstop of development, of new battery technologies that are gonna change the world… It’s frankly exhausting, like, give me real data as you say, such as capacity installed per year, trends in battery capacities and prices and the reasons for that, and so on and so forth.

  • Please tell us how environmentally friendly bringing infrastructure like internet, roads, electricity, water or garbage disposal to low-population density areas is, and how resource-efficient single family houses are. Go off living your happiest life, mate, just don’t preach about the sustainability of it when your eco-footprint is twice that of a city dweller.

As advice: for solar panels to charge an EV, you’re gonna need a fuckton of them. An EV battery is easily 50kWh, which means a 10kW solar installation producing full energy for 5 hours (assuming perfect efficiency on conversion). So be ready to buy a lot of panels.
