As a lefty who was taught to write with the right hand, 1 I have horrible hand writing, 2 it made me somewhat ambidextrous, but in a real clumsy way. So imo it’s better to not do this.

I was born in 1975, and my youth was pretty awesome. I was also born in the Netherlands, so booze (and drugs, but I never did that) were available at a young age. Also, affordable concerts and festivals and great music scenes.

There’s a fork of Wordpress which still has the old editor, which looks fine to me. I don’t know anything about the people behind it though, and haven’t yet tried it myself.

I used to be pretty good at googling stuff, but the last 1 or 2 years it just won’t work anymore. For instance, I had to charge a battery yesterday, and the power led started blinking when I put the battery in. I didn’t know if this meant either charging or faulty battery, so I googled it. Got pages of ads for this particular charger, but no answer. So google is just a big marketplace these days, and nothing more.

Just so you know, a dremel battery is charging when the power led blinks.

What I do when I do this is go to the store to buy a replacement. When I get home I will then usually find the original item within a day, my record is in a few minutes.

There are quite some checks and balances in place over here (Netherlands). I have known some terminally ill people who went this route, and one it wasn’t an easy option, two people postponed or didn’t go through with it, three some people couldn’t take this option anymore because you have to arrange it in advance and they ran out of time.

To clarify, the pompous part relates to “devote my energies to building up an audience”. But maybe it’s because I devote my energies to shitposting instead. On the other points I can get where you’re coming from.

Maybe we should be happy it doesn’t happen, breaking down all plastics which are currently everywhere would probably result in massive CO2 emissions. That’s why I’m always sceptical when these kind of articles appear; it gives some people an excuse to say the overuse of plastics isn’t an issue.

I can’t find it in the article, but I assume this is the same as all the other plastic eating organisms; They can eat plastic under specific circumstances, but would rather not. What is in the article; they can only survive on polystyrene if it is mixed with other food and nutrients.

It would actually depend on where in Germany you are going, but since the first Turkish “Gastarbeiter” (among others, quite some nationalities) came to West Germany over 60 years ago, it is not uncommon to meet people of Turkish descent there. (East Germany not so much, they had Vietnamese workers but mostly deported them back to Vietnam after the re-unification.) Combine these Gastarbeiter (and the three generations after them) with a declining native birth rate and an influx of asylum seekers, and it could well be 40-50% all together.

The big question is what the problem is here, and the answer is that the far right wants it to be a problem so they can come to power. So they’ll bloody make it a problem and try and sabotage any solutions. These last lines are my personal opnion obviously.
