      i do.

Their just getting of xitter is not enough for me. Is Threads, for example, an acceptable alternative?

A lot of people who liked Twitter and didn’t like Instagram / Facebook are realizing that Threads feels more like Instagram for text, not a Twitter substitute.

The Twitter junkies appear to be amassing on Bluesky, since that experience is the most similar to what they were missing.

Here’s my thing. I said months ago that these services aren’t the problem. It’s the people on them.

You don’t want those people to go to threads. Would you rather they came here? I find these types of comments don’t think it through. You don’t want them on threads. You don’t want them on X. I’m going to assume you don’t want to kill these people, so they’re going to exist SOMEWHERE.

So where do you want the boomers, the racists, and the intolerant people to go?

your comment doesn’t sound tolerant either.

Even if I disagree with views of some people, i would rather prefer them to be on platforms where their communications aren’t treated as commodity. So, yes, i would prefer everybody to be on fediverse.

Racists, intolerant people are by definition people who have broken the tolerance social contract. This means they’re no longer bound by it, and there’s no need whatsoever for anyone to tolerate them. :)

with only Germany and Finland seeing an uptick in numbers.

Wtf? How can there be an uptick, anywhere? Even more in Germany, where Mastodon comes from.

I think it’s both sad and telling how concerned people are about getting their twitter fix.
