I wish that was ours…
Will talk about Linux, plants, space, retro games, and anything else I find interesting.
I wish that was ours…
Yep. And they are talking about a couple more price hikes next year. Significant ones.
Yes. There was talk locally for local government to take control of the power but it’s just talk…
It gets over 110 where I live in the summer…so air conditioning can make it very expensive.
Mostly just that they can. It’s more expensive per tier actually.

Take a look, this is the old pricing. They just voted to up it again.
There’s legislation that is moving along to charge people with solar because…idk.
I think at max 200w? It runs a collection of fedi/self service stuff.
I also run a pi with a couple of apps on a pi 3 that sips power.
It’s a legitimate issue because it’s 50+ cents per killowat hour where I live so power is very expensive…
Thats some pretty bad stuff: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3wLm5nlYrHkbd29ilMRq89?nd=1&dlsi=50e31b2329204ddd
its all the same song as the article states.
Hopefully it gets peer reviewed soon. It’s interesting but I would like to see it reproduced before we say it was discovered.
In a study that has yet to be peer reviewed
The mastodon developers are us.
It’s open source so yeah…my PRS are part of the community. And so are yours. And projects like GoToSocial make it seemless if someone wants to implement the same protocol in a slightly different way.
I have a project like it. Lots of collective commons, free books, lots of things without copyright. It’s a box anyone can get into in a localized area. On a pi zero w. Fun little project to put together.
Lots of Wikipedia and text to be honest.
Journey to the microcosmose is pretty great.
Great video.
Composer + other hosting is a much better spot in my opinion.
Wow this might be an end of an era. Crazy. The wp community has been around for a large part of my stay on the Internet. Wild.
Yeah the more im looking at this, it seems to be lemmy in particular that is having issues. I was able to get to the channel on mastodon/GotoSocial/piefed/other federated services as well. No issues.
It used to work to subscribe, but for some reason around 7 months ago, direct links dont seem to federate anymore:
https://lemmy.world/c/thelinuxexperiment_channel@tilvids.com
https://lemmy.ml/c/thelinuxexperiment_channel@tilvids.com?dataType=Post&sort=New
VS https://tilvids.com/a/thelinuxexperiment/videos
as an example. Im not sure if this is instance specific.
It works outside of lemmy. For example piefed:
https://piefed.social/c/thelinuxexperiment_channel@tilvids.com?sort=new&layout=list
works really well.
Yeah you and a lot of people. There’s a couple articles about it but essentially there’s some talk of pushback.
And personally for me there are alternatives that people could use. While not a lot of people are on it, peertube is a viable alternative. I’ve watched a couple of small creators on it and it ha good performance. Just a very small audience.
Makertube is one of my favorites.
They do random testing. I’ve received one of these a couple of times with unlock as well. Google/yt has not fully committed.
I remember back s decade ago and using it to buy a coffee. It was slow back then. Can’t think of the time it takes now.
It compartmentalizes things into each app. It’s both good and bad. It’s a tradeoff situation def. Some people will use docker and/or kub. It’s all the same result though.
