  • I have a different perspective. I do think they are a force for truth, because it is a forum for openly sharing information. Not all of the information that is shared will neccesarily be truthful or correct, but as long as it remains open and collaborative, the truth will prevail.

Another point is that the sources for the information are cited (or at least requested and notated when missing), and it must always be the responsibility of the reader to check and understand the sources.

but it is definitely not something you should just immediately take everything on the site at face value.

I don’t think this should ever be the expectation for any source of information, really.

Kitchen fires are scarier than they are difficult to deal with, if you are prepared and remain calm. You can see in this video how quickly and easily you can contain and extinguish the fire with just a baking sheet or a metal pot lid or just another pan. The real trouble happens when people panic or respond to the fire improperly, like splashing water onto it. It’s also smart to keep a small fire extinguisher in your kitchen, just in case.

There is also a lot of food that you can cook that will have little to no risk of causing a fire (soup, curry, rice, pasta, braised meats, steamed vegetables, pretty much anything that is wet or contains a lot of water or is cooked with water/steam), although if you keep your kitchen clean and tidy, and use your stove burners on appropriate levels, there should be little risk of a fire anyway.

  • I genuinely have no clue. I only ever have it once in a blue moon if I stop during a road trip and don’t have another option. I wish I had money to open a fast food place with because holy shit, how can you even fail, given what is successful???

It’s actually more expensive than other options, truly awful service, usually much slower than it was in the past (I’ve literally never gotten my food in a McDonalds in less than 30 minutes in the last 10 years because they prioritize drive through and online orders), it tastes like shit and makes me feel like shit after I eat it.

  • in the past.

    Yep.

that might be enough to vote for the Democrat

You should ask yourself why you’re trying to get away with not delivering things that progressives want, or why you’re trying to deliver just enough things to coax their votes, but nothing more. Like, do you hear yourself?

instead of the Republican who offers nothing?

You think this is actually occurring in real life? They’re just not voting. And Republicans vote in enough numbers to beat the Democrat base every single time.

“We can win without a progressive candidate, but the only Democrat candidate who has won in recent history is Biden, who was actually pretty progressive” Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…

I mean if Biden is pretty progressive then I’d argue Obama’s 2008 campaign was too on the same scale, so… seems like the only time Democrats have won since basically the cold war was with progressive candidates… 🤷
