Are those razor subscription services any good? The dollar shave clubs and Harry’s and stuff like that? I’ve never really seen the point, seeing as a local dollar store has cheap razors in them in 5 packs. Am I missing out on something?
Edit: So what I am seeing from this is get a safety razor, or learn how to do a straight razor shave, and if for some reason I want to see what the “premium” option is like try delco. Alright, thanks for the tips!
i don’t like subscriptions. they are mostly good for the company but bad for the customer.
You can buy a pack of 100 count blades for like 15 bucks. That should last about 2 years at one blade a week
If you’re able to use a safety razor. The way my hair grows, I’ve never been able to get a close shave with any razor.
If the dollar store razors work for you, there’s no point in a subscription service.
Also, the DSC is just rebranded Delco razors, so you can just buy those for much less.
I’ll give a sort of recommendation to using a safety razor and cheap blades instead. However I’ve been doing it for years and still cut myself.
I yearn for a razor that can use safety razor blades and wouldn’t cut me up.
I already have these razors that use those blades already: Leaf, OneBlade, Maxwell June, and Proof razors… and yet they all cut me up about the same as my regular safety razor.
Anyways razors are kind of cool. Wonder if there is a Lemmy community for shaving.
Any cartridge or disposable razor is a scam. Safety or straight razors provide a better shave at a fraction of the yearly cost, for a low initial investment. Straight razors are much more of a learning curve, but safety razors are just as easy to use as a cartridge razor.
